Post Attn: WYLDMAN!

Thought you might be interested in this little tidbit of info from the Dallas RT Board... Message posted in its entirety:

[quote]Hello all:

Just wanted to let you know that we're still hangin around! Still
have the truck and still racing it when we're not working on it!
<grin> Had a blast in Sealy June 30th... raced 3 Lightnings and
waxed their butts... like they were standing still.
Just can't seem to get a good race out of any of them... even when
they are on the bottle. I think the best I have seen so far has been
an 8.7x.

We have just 2 more things to do and hopefully when we see you guys
in Baytown in Sept. we will either be in the lower to mid 7's on 1/8
mi. and that should put us at the mid 11's on the 1/4 mi. Getting
the 60' times down to 1.8 or less.

Go have a look at the time slip I posted.

We were offered a couple of sponsors.... not sure if we want someone
elses name painted all over the truck or all the decals!

Ron & Lynda Merx[/qoute]

Whaddaya think?

Doesn't sound like the R/T was anywhere near stock if it's running mid 7's on the 1/8 and mid 11's in the quarter. Not many stock or mildly modified L can approach that. Keep in mind, there's always someone faster!

This RT is a blown NOS truck. I have seen him run and he is quick. BUT he hasn't tangled with an equivalent Lightning that I have seen. If he has raced a Lightning with NOS it wasn't setup up properly. But he will get his chance. I've already run in the low 8's without the NOS and will be looking to get into the 7's with it. hehehehe can't wait.

This guy's RT is fast (I believe it is the yellow extended cab). He has a vortech pushing 14 or 15lbs boost and NOS. I saw him run a 7.99 in the 1/8th. He is correct, none of our L's has runs that fast. None of us have been using NOS either. Best we have run (I use "we" loosely, Jerrod has been the fastest)in this 100 degree weather has been 8.5XXXX with NO NOS. He at least should get his facts straight. By the way, I have not run him myself, but at least know he is not a good driver because he never makes it past the first round of the bracket racing. Nonetheless, his truck is fast...

Well if hes blown and running NOS, he would have an advantage. I just pulled out my timeslip from when I ran 12.75, the 1/8 mile on that run was a blistering 8.16.
