June Issue of Hot Rod Magazine states that Yellow might replace White. Anyone have information on this??

 

I would guess that Ford still may not know for sure.

The Pic of the 2001 that have been seen here on this board is white so my guess is that white stays (although that is certainly no guarantee). There is a pic of a yellow lightning at the web address below, but it looks to me to be a photo touchup in photoshop by putting a yellow wash on a white truck. I doubt yellow would be a big seller but I could be wrong. I stopped by the dealer who sold me my silver L. He said there has been no announcement about colours.

Nobody knows the truth.Nobody will till november at their Lightning press release.Rumors Ive heard are as follows.Yes their are a bunch!!

White is gone next year.they are only making red and black

White is gone next year due to white not selling great on lightnings or reg f150s.reg f150s will remain white though.

They are replacing white with yellow.

They are only making silver one year.

They only want to have them in 3 colors for the remaining years.

The third color or 4th?? will alwys be changing.

**Then they have a meeting and they show a brand new 2001 lightning in what color...................??? You guessed it.WHITE!!!!Somebody asked if they are making it and they replied that they were!GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!LOLNow well never know the truth.

I guess the only thing that they are pretty sure of is Black and red are staying!

 

My guess is that BLACK would be the only color that Ford would never delete.

I heard you could have the Model T ford way back when any color you want as long it was black.

 

What about the Model A's? Did those come in different colors? When did the fast "color" white come into production on vehicles??

 

I heard rumers of the same thing, but haven't seen anything on paper yet.

 

I've seen the order book for the 2001 L, and (of course, I'm sure this is subject to change...) there are 4 colors listed: Bright Red Clearcoat (E4), Black Clearcoat (UA), Oxford White Clearcoat (YZ) & Silver Clearcoat (YN).

Yellow and silver are the colors they tossed around last year and do to comsumer response, they went silver. I used to have a pic of a silver and yellow L's they had, yellow is way to much on a big truck IMO.
