A KB blower or Whipple, Full exhaust, injectors, maf, plugs, pumps, throttle body, lower pulley and a great tune to make it run right, this is what worked for me.

Hmm i am still new to the lightning but from what i understand. The rods are only good up too 500 hp and that seams to be a little push for the engine. Also for 500 hp your going to have to go to a bigger SC to move some more air into the engine. also your going to need a lot of good tuneing to pull it off. I think that 450 to 475 is about the most you want to push but ever one on here is great and if i am wrong they will correct me.

On a Mustang dyno....I am a little over 460rwhp....which I think is around 500 rwhp on a dynojet. I am still on the stock block and don't run nitrous. My mods are as follows:

Kenne Bell
6lb lower pulley (15psi)
Dynatech long tubes
Silver bullet cat-back / high flow cats / mid pipes
Electric fan
Cobra R pump
AFCO heat exchanger
JLP powercooler
C&L plenum / elbow
95mm MAF
CAI
MAFIA extender
60lb injectors
Walboro 255 pumps
Underdrive pulleys
NGK BR7's
Accufab SBTB
FTVB (r)
PI 2600 stall
QA1 shocks
Diablo revolutions chip

I have done everything you can pretty much except the internals. But you can probably get there cheaper with the following:

Ported blower
6lb lower
NGK TR6's
Predator or SCT tuner (good dyno tune)
CAI
FTVB
100 wet shot / nitrous

I had the same combo with 500/600 on a MD motorsports tune. Add 75 shot and get 580/735.

I'm there......

551 RWHP and 580 on the torque. I am only running 13.5 psi of boost......

JLP built and TUNED with a KB sittin' up top.

Planning on going with his new intake and pushing the boost up to about 18 psi. That should put me at about 600 RWHP.

the question was about his stock block holding up to it... not a built block holding up to it...lol

Has anyone ever installed just a 'Big Shot'?
I mean like nothing, just a 150-175 shot?

Just wondering
