Post Widening Wheels: BABolt

BABolt,

Where did you get your wheels widened? Could they widen a pair for me? How much will it cost?

You can e-mail me at icientyouth@cs.com if you wish.

Thanks,
Mike

The wheels are $400 a peice (includes new wheel) and 1" wider, the problem is finding the $363 315/40/18 tyres.

I'm a little worried that if I do this I'll love it but probably goodyear will discontinue the tyre. Go figure?

I hope I'm not stepping on Bads toes here.

Wide like this?

Send me e-mail at mikesmotorsport@mediaone.net we can talk. Just remember one thing these items fit under the catagory of a racing product and as such there is no warranty.

Just added another photo of what can be done and to allow you a view of the welding. These wheels are for my Mustang. Now the big question powder coat or chrome.

Oh what the heck! I can take up space too. Another photo this time the tires. They are available from " The Tire Rack" but you have to ask for them. You will not find them in the online catalog.

Just curious. How true do the welded wheels run. How much run-out do you see on the outside OD of the rim ?? Is it less than .010"?

No change to the outside of the wheel. All changes were to the backside of the wheel, they were build on a lathe. Yes the runout was watched very carefully and the balance too. I detailed the build process in a Zing photo album about 6 months ago.

Photo of the F1 Supercar's mounted on my widened wheels. To answer a question before it is asked, it took 2.25 and 3 oz. (stick on weights) respectively to balance each wheel and tire combo.
