Post mod friendly dealer in Houston???

Well guys it seems after nearly 28k miles my truck has developed the dreaded intercooler leak. It is going through 30oz in about 2 days time (150 miles). I am guessing that is pretty bad. Plus power seems to be down ( I lost to a LS1 last night ;( ). So does anyone know of any mod friendly dealers in the Houston area? I do you think I can leave my chip and MAF in since it is just the intercooler?

Thanks for yor help guys,
Mike B.

McRee and Bay Area Ford are both owned by the same folks, I would suggest you look up Dave Delisio at Bay Area Ford, he's a good guy and will take good care of you. Tell him I sent you and he might even buy you a soda.

Tomball Ford also has some good people in the service area, as well as Mac Haik Ford.

I would suggest that you avoid Champion and Texan at all costs, their AutoNation management people are puppets that can't adapt to the real world at all.

Hope this helps some...

I bought mine from Gullo out in Conroe...way to far for me this time around. I had it in at MCree for the popping noise, tonneau cover, and missing underhood trim. They fixed the popping noise (for about 2 weeks), and told me I would have to make another appointment for the other items after I made an appointment and picked my truck up. So in other words...I am going to try someone else this time around. I have also tried Bay Area ford for the same issues. They said I had to take it to the dealer I bought it from for the missing trim and cover, but would fix the popping noise. They called back later that day and said my truck was ready. When I got there the service writer said they could not do anything for it as I had 18" rims on there. He then asked me if the rims were aftermarket or something and implied that they could be my problem (read idiot).

Anyway, I think I am going to try my luck with Tommie Vaughn as several others have recommended them in the past.

thanks for the help,

Mike B.

Mike-

I bought my L from Tommie Vaughn. While I wouldn't say that their sales tactics are first rate, I have heard that their service dept. is top of the line. I would be going back there for my warranty stuff, but it is WAY too far from College Station. If you get a chance, let us know how they feel about aftermarket goodies.

Well I dropped my truck off today at Tommie Vaughn and talked to my service guy about the mods. He said it should not be a problem....I guess we will all know in a few days....wish me luck.

Had mine repaired at Joe Myers Ford on 290/beltway. Took them 2 days once they had the parts. I took the chip out of mine, but left the mass air on. Never said a thing. They are pretty cool, but there is no sense in pushing any issues when the chip is so easy to take out.
BTW, remember to clear the memory after you take it out.

Mike,

Where did you buy your 'L? McRee may sorta look the other way if you discuss it with them up front. They didn't seem to have a problem with my chip and Pro-M.

You can remove your chip and leave the Pro-M that should be no problem nor should your exhaust. Course the 'L becomes wimpier....
