What to do when replacing the Engine??

As I mentioned in this post, I'm replacing my 2001 L's engine. My L has never had a dealer service visit since I bought it new in May of 2001.

I've told the dealer to replace the rearend lubricant and, of course, the coolant and auto-trans fluid will be replaced as they drain when the engine is pulled. I also gave them 8 Denso Irridiums for my spark plug replacement.

What else should I consider having done while I have the $$$ and the time for it? No need to mention racing mods as I will only use what was already on my L before its engine problem and won't be 1/4 mile racing it anymore. A 12.531 in the 1/4 is OK for me

Any other maintenance/service items that should be covered IYO?

Dan

Use some other brand of plug so you do not have to pull heads when plug breaks. Yea, I know, a lot of people like them.

He's talking about the pocelain and tips. The Denso's are not forgiving on detonation... but on a stock setup, they'll help it purrr like a kitten...no, mountain lion
