i seem in the australian 2000 cobra they are rating the 4.6 4v at 385 hp on fords web site: whats the deal.. maybe no cats? different heads? how come they are getting them and we aren't. did u see auto week july 3 saying a ford guy says there is a "v10 super charged 4 a furture lightning".. also saying zo6 is 4 "extreme corvette enthusiasts" maybe the v10 will be 4 "extreme lightning enthusiasts"

 

I have heard about the Supercharged v10(only heard of the motor nothing else ;( ). Mayeb just headers and a good catback system for the cobras in austrila(dont we do nuclear testing there?)

 

This is a test - only a test (read: hearsay). I stopped by the SVT trailer at the Detroit Gran Prix on Belle Isle and conversed with a couple of the boys. My wife was there while I talked to an 'elderly' SVT rep., so if anyone thinks this is a load of manure, call her - she'll verify the conversation. Anyway, I asked if there are any performance enhancements in their pipeline and he replied that there are plans for something 'really big'. That's it - no specifics - no nothing. Soooo, maybe the V10 rumor isn't that far fetched.

So it is written - so it shall be! (ala Yul Brynner in The Ten Commandments)

Wow, a supercharged V10!!! Even if it never becomes a reality it sure is neat to think about. I wounder what the HP/Torque figures would be for a supercharged V10?

Four valve Lighting Hauls a**. I drove it this weekend and noticed a big difference in my 2000 lightning... Love the hp increase to 405 hp... It even sounded better and badder... I'll see if I can put some pictures up..... New wheels for next year. New color too. The hp is going to 375 next year for 2001 I know that.

Good to "see" you again!

At least one V-10 Lightning already exists, one of our customers has had the pleasure of driving it, along with some of the supercharged Lincoln Mark 8's that were built, that lucky devil.

With all the technology that FoMoCo has as a result of not only their own efforts but those of their acquisitions, I can't wait to see what their "next big thing" turns out to be.... will it be a V-10 Lightning? Will there be a Mark 9? Who knows?
