Post Are Lightning's really-really fast?

I heard they will go low 13's and sometimes 12's with just a K&N and a chip? Is this true?

yes,With a chip and filter kit you can expect and probally will get mid 13s.

I live at sea level and have gotten
13.2s@104 and 105 with just a chip and filter kit. Most run 13.5 .Ive been lucky,I have run low 13s in both my old 99 and my new 2000

betty i had a 95 l and that was one quick pickup. i just put a deposit on a 2000 l saturday and before doing that i test drove 3 different l's. i was there for the sole reason of finding the fastest of the lot and i got it in a cherry red 2000 l. i would say all G2 lightnings will get you in that mid to upper 13 range, but some stock lightnings are strong runners and will take you there easier. i plan on making my new lightning a 12+ sec ride since i am already there with my 95 r model. happy bolt hunting!

It's Ok stock maybe a top 15 vehicle but with a chip and MAF/Filter top 10.

If you get on it on the street, top ten when the light turns green if you know how to launch it. Most here could practice more in my HO, but most are so ****.

I use to think my L was serious underpowered until 3-4 vets, what a peace of **** to get beaten by a PU.

The truck is kind of fun but I want REAL HP like 900-1000. Drop this piece of **** engine and go in a different direction, I will be surprised if me or you can get another 100 hp with out dropping this turd, this should be a diligent improvement

Oh well, the post wasn't a total waste. 95RCOBRA proves once again that red is the fastest color!

RED maybe the fastest as I saw John Coletti driving a red one today. It looked like it might be his own. (Real Plate, not M plate)

Thumbs up

SilverBullett-
I think that IS John's truck. When Car and Driver TV aired that Moss vs Coletti shootout, there was a red 99 parked in the back off to the side. Coincidence? I think not.

Betty, most of the chipped/air modded lightnings are running 13.0 flat according to the assometer readings when barometric pressure is above 30.00. if you are having any problems getting these same times with your assometer, i'm sure we could recalibrate it for you, if you would just let my get my grubby hands on it. whatcha say Betty?

Sure BBQ--when, where? I guess you are coming out of the closet tonight?

Naw duck, you have the wrong place and truck.
Did they run that red Lightning and what did it do? Just curious.

To set things straight about the aformentioned Lightning, it was 90 degrees and 90% humidity so everyone was running crappy, except the N2O'd cars. The two Lightning guys are very cool and good friends and we race together alot. We are just gonna kick back, drink beer, and wait till about mid September, and try again.
