they handle great and if you had one when they first came out you would have been more than satisfied. If you drove gen 2 first , you would be ruined. Thankfully i can appreciate the gen 1s. Because i always wanted one and always setled for reg cab f-150 xlts back in the day when they were made.

the point of owning it in correct order.
#1. driving a truck once in a while which turns more heads then my 04 because of the condition of this thing. People are not used to seeing a 13 yr old truck like brand new. It gets alot of respect.
#2 Having something that nobody else has
#3 I paid $19k for it 5 months ago and have been offered $30k already and can see this thing going for more than $50k at barrett Jackson in 5 more years. Specially if they make a gen 3. Personally i see it going for up to $100k by the time i retire which is a pretty dam good investment concidering i get to enjoy it in the process

Once i buy those three cars, a gen 2 any year any color with less then 3k miles is next on my list for a collectors item. I will still own my 04 and drive it on weekends like i have been but i do infact want one to sit next to the 93. I would imagine at barrett jackson in 20 years, those two trucks together as one lot will sell for quite a bit more then seperatley.Tell ya the truth, i dont care how long it takes to find the right gen two, It took me 5 years to find the right gen 1
I would love Ford to make a gen 3 but to tell ya the truth, I dont see it. How the hell can you beat the OVERALL performance of the gen 2s?? Dodge could not even do it for $15k more!!!. My opinion is these trucks are the absolute best sport truck ever made or that will ever be made again. Specially with $3-$4 gasoline prices. Just like the muscle cars of the 60s which ended after gas prices, I totally believe that we are going into the end again. I firmly believe that there will NEVER be cars or trucks that will out perform the muscle cars / trucks of the 2000-2010 era. Basically i see what old muscle cars sell for on ebay and i firmly believe when we are all driving drive by wire cars with batterys, or low emmision vehicles, the cars of the last 10 years will be worth alot of coin and will be even more fun to own and drive..Even more than the 60s muscle cars because of all the creature comforts we have today along with the super performance
wait 10 more years and watch what these super low mileage cars are worth.I bet most will be approcing $100k

The fact is there are way more collectors than you might think. Actually the person with the $30k offer was not even a lightning fanatic. Just somebody with alot of money and a growing collection. There are more people like that then you probally realize also.
