Yeah the ram srt-10 is dead. We only have about 9k total built if even that many might be less (dodge hasnt released the numbers ye). Im sure srt will put out another hi-po truck before Ford though.

Direct Quote from Link:

Blame a good deal of the Ram SRT10's demise on gas prices. The quad-cab version of the high-performance truck only returned 9 mpg in city driving and 12 mpg on the highway. The regular cab version returned 9 mpg in city driving and 15 on the highway.

I think this is exactly the same reason the 3rd Gen Lightning was never produced

A high performance vehicle, especially a truck, is not something you buy when you are concerned about gas mileage.

If you want performance and MPG, get an Elise/Exige.

I posted my Z06 for sale(I think I need to get back in another Ford) and someone asked me if I was interested in a regular cab 04' with only 4,000(straight trade). I am like, "damn these things stickered for close to $50K, I could make out good here, drive it for a few weeks and sell it!" So I look on Ebay and see what they are selling for. WTF!!! That is crazy, dropping $20,000 in 2 years!!!!!!!!!!
Did you all see the MPG those things are getting>??? HaHa! 12MPG highway out of the quad cab!!! WoW. -Mat-

Im pretty confident that these used rams will actually increase to a value of mid 30k to 40k within 1 year of dealer lots being empty of new ones. The lightnings which were produced way longer and way more than srt have even climbed up since they stopped selling new.

I bet within 2 years these things hold at around $30-35k long term.

Im sure the next ram truck will have a hemi with some sort of power adder .Then it might be alot less expensive.

I honestly think that a ram srt 10 was a good value for a SPORT TRUCK/dodge enthusiast. You gotta think, VIPERS are 90K now. You could buy a viper truck new for less then half. It might not be as well thought out as the lightning but $40-45k is not really that bad for a viper engined truck.Thats if you like dodge. Personally, i dont.I dont think they viper truck can compete with a lightning at any price. but I also think Ford did one hell of a job with the gen 2 Lightning and i dont think you will ever see a better balanced sport truck from anybody ever again!!including ford. Nobody is going to be able to offer anything close to the Lightning for under $40k, Thats a fact.

Hi Mike, looks like all my rowdy friends have settled down on this site, so i don't post much anymore. still have a lot to clean up, a year later, here in New Orleans, it's a lot worse than most people know. last years evacuation was in 2 Lightnings with hard lids, to hold a lot of luggage, etc. this year, a new 06 King Ranch EXPY with lots of seats, flip down dvd movie player, and a big luggage rack

Actually, Lightning prices are DOWN a lot over the past 2 years. 99's selling for around 13k now, 00's for 15...

As for the SRT-10 - if there is no demand when they are new, there will be little demand when they are discontinued.
