yeah

maybe in your area. My area these trucks have rocketed because there are none for sale. Also i am referring to LOW mileage (under 20k) not daily drivers
Yeah, used Lightnings are definetely holding their value around here. 2002 and newer with 20k miles are selling for 24k.

As for the comment about 99's and 00's selling 13k........how soon we forget that these trucks are 6 and seven years old already!!!

I don't know about you, but I'd drather buy a garage queen 00 with low miles at a higher price, then a dailey driven 03 with higher miles at the same price.

True dat. Until they are purchased, then gimmicked, chromed, and made unsuitable for anything longer or curvier than the 1,320.

SVTs come from the factory tastefully appointed and made for the so-called "1%'ers." Too bad most Lightning owners don't appreciate that.

Just curious, how do you guys know what "Lightnings are selling for around here"? Do you survey the dealers on a regular basis? Or do you just know the dealer asking price which doesn't represent what they are selling for?

I don't know fellas, it's hard to beat the Lightning in looks, and value at least. 2 year old SRT's are going for what Lightnings were new for 120 more horse relating to not much faster IMO. Take the money you save and make your Lightning rape a Dodge. They need SVT back, and now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something has to be brewing though..............Ford??????

Ford F'd up and really dropped the ball when they killed SVT. For someone like me who buys new cars all the time they now have nothing to offer and I am NOT brand loyal. all of the above are now sold and I am now moving through the SRT lineup...

and my latest..

That all depends on the options, you can get a Brand New C6 Coupe for under $45,000. I highly doubt they are selling a FULLY loaded one for $39,000 unless it has some insane amount of mileage, which if it did would make your argument useless. I was talking about a SRT-10 with 4,000 miles on it.
Also you are comparing a regular Vette when we a talking about a special edition Ram, therefore you would compare a Z06 to the SRT-10.

First and foremost, i am a LIGHTNING FREAK, I am always lookg for ones to buy in auto trader and such. second, I just purchased a 15k mile 04 and had to drive 400 miles to find one with low miles.I also paid a premium price $27995. Now last year I sold mine for $22k with 11k miles on it and had a hard time selling it.FYI These trucks have skyrocketed with LOW LOW miles on them. Yes i could have bought a 75k mile one for 13-14k but thats not what i wanted.Or a 30-40k mile one for $20K.

third I own a car dealership.

I am not trying to offend you, but I probably will end up doing it anyways.........
If you own a car dealership and can't get a low mileage Lightning for less than $28,000, I think you should look into another line of work. -Mat-

Lightningquick,
I just purchased a 15k mile 04 and had to drive 400 miles to find one with low miles.I also paid a premium price $27995.
Careful on what you buy. I have heard of guys in my area (Miami) that can reburn or rechip these trucks to read any mileage that you want for a few hundred bucks. They swear that you'll never find out because the chips are OEM from Ford. And just to be clear, I don't condone these practices but it's important to know, if your relying only on what the odo says.

And FYI, I bought my 99 L with 89K miles in Dec 04 for 12K and today it has 113K miles and it still rocks (except for the blown spark plug today, but thats typical on these trucks ).

Mileage on these trucks is not the most important thing. Most guys mod their motors and then end up putting built motors into them anyway, making them a "zero" mile motor again, for the most part. Care and appearance will demand high resale values.

Cesar

No offfense taken, You do not know what you are talking about, Why would i be offended.?
These trucks cannot be found at any auctions right now with those kind of miles. For instance there is a auction 100 miles away from me called (adesa auto aution). They are the LARGEST in NE selling approx 4000 cars a per week (every friday). There have been NO low mileage lightnings around period. Before you start running your lips, know the facts.
These trucks usually have 30-60k miles on them. Ill tell ya what, You find me one they way i want.

2003- 2004
Under 10k miles
sonic blue or white
MINT condition within 200 miles from me

for less then 27995

and ill get off my computer and kiss your a$$
Until then go jerk your self off.

Ive owned a dealership for 11 years, Dont you think I tried auctions you idiot?

While your doing that, try and find me a 1993-1995 with 2600 miles or less for $20K like my other truck . If you can do that, Ill have my wife kiss your a$$ instead.

Point Blank, i wanted the lowest mileage lightning in MY CHOICE OF COLOR that i could find. Unlike maybe you, money was no object.
