red line water wetter/intercooler

Yesterday i almost poured a bottle of red line water wetter into the intercooler filler instead of the radiator filler.
This made me think that maybe this is a good idea?
Does anyone know?
It seems that it wont hurt anything and it should keep the system 10 or 15
degrees cooler.

I'v been using Water Wetter since new in the intercooler. I change the intercooler coolant every 18 months and flush the system. Has been working great since 2001! Artie

My intercooler mix is 80% water/20% antifreeze and a bottle of water wetter.

If you are going to put water wetter anywhere it should be in the intercooler because it's non-regulated and you'll see the most benefit. Your engine coolant temperature is regulated by the thermostat so adding water wetter doesn't do a whole lot for you unless you are having problems cooling the truck.

Water and Water-Wetter in the I/C for me in the summer. Come winter, I use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze.

i do the same. the little bit of antifreeze left over in the system and the water wetter gives me an oh so sexy brown color

i've heard that water wetter when mixed with antifreeze, does virtually nothing. but mixed only with water it is effective.

It's the other way around. The most effective you can get is pure water, so mixing water wetter with water only provides no benefit. Water wetter added to a very diluted antifreeze mix (say 20/80%) will transfer heat almost as good as pure water while still giving better freeze or boiling protection and lubrication and corosion protection.

If you're really interested in Red Line's "water wetter" effectiveness combined with water, with wataer and anti-freeze, etc. - and how water wetter works -check Red Lines website. Gives you all the details on well they say it works under differing conditons and applications.
