From: Colorado,
Need a shell for the L

I know it will look bad but I won't have it on all the time.

I'm going to get rid of my enclosed trailer and start hauling my sandrail to the dunes with my L and want a place to sleep and keep things locked up for a few days at a time. Plus I need to haul plumbing tools and some pipe from time to time.

Can't seem to find a shell listed for the 6 1/2 ft flairside?
Talked to a few local dealers and there catalogs don't show a listing.

I need to start using this 10K mile garage Queen or get rid of it. She's a stocker except for Bassani.

Anyone know of a brand, have a picture or a link?

I posted on the 04-06 forum and am not getting any brand response just a few suggestions about trailer.
Thanks
Greg

Another plumber with a Lightning that sits in the garage most of the time. I thought I was the only one. The Lighting is a great truck, but it does seem pretty impracticle.

I can't help you with brands or any of that. I know that there are a few here that have used a shell. You might want to do a search in this section using the term "topper". I think a lot of people call them toppers. Around here we call them a cap.

They are available, somewhere.

Good luck!

From: Colorado,
Thanks for the reply's.

It's been a love hate relationship with the truck ever since day one.

It is a tuff little work horse truck but it is just to cute to do much work from.
That nice paint, low ground clearance, leather interior, gas eating, tire burning beauty is a PITA when your in the mud at work or in the winter.

They used to compare Doctors and Plumbers wages but not where I live

I will check out the leer commercial closer. The local topper place has tons of catologs but couldn't find a listing for our trucks on line or in the book.
Prolly just not a large enough demand. That flaired bed is the problem.

I really like the comercial unit you picked out. I would do it in charcoal to match the truck. I tried to call but they won't quote prices on the phone you have to go threw a dealer. They wouldn't even tell me if it's available.

I have an A.R.E. Z series on my reg cab short box stepside. It is the only topper that fits and looks good. It was a little pricey, but it is good quality. Carpeted headliner, power lock that works with the trucks key fob, hard-wired light, fold-down slider window. I have pics if you want them emailed, let me know...

I've had an A.R.E. Z Series for a few years now. IMO, it fits and looks good.

So yeah, A.R.E. makes camper tops for the flareside bed.
