The other day I was talking to a friend and he said some people he knew said that I wasted 30K on a truck that can't outrun a stock Camaro SS. Why do people that can't afford a 30K truck have to talk about everything that can beat it??? Envy, it must be a terrible thing to live with!

I dunno.... every SS I've raced has become a victim! I've only raced 2 tho.... I've beaten EVERY crumaro I've raced! (Especially STREET RACES!)

 

Hmmm......those friends should talk.

Why buy a $4000 upgrade on an SS when you can get a bone stock Z28 that will probably beat the SS at the track anyways......mine did when I had it. 2 SS's ran 14.01 on the day I was there and I happened to run 13.78 on the same day. Essentially you pay for a tail, wheels and a hood. At least we get the total package.

 

I don't know that your buddy is talking about I've beat 3 plus one that won't leave me alone on the street (I don't street race hehehe) I wasted him by 2 cars and waited at the next light and he never came back up. I guess he learned a tough lesson.

I would hardly consider it a waste of $30K when I can:

1. TOW their **** (trailer included)
2. Haul a bed-full of goodies
3. Kick their bowtie a$$es all day long.

I went by 1 of their houses and in the driveway was a late 60's early 70's Nova (pretty nice), a mid 80's Cutlass leaking so much oil it should have been an EPA violation and a 70's plymouth that had more bondo than real metal on the body panels, oh yeah a 90's Chevy truck. Big deal my 1 vehicle is worth more than his whole fleet! People make me laugh.

I have raced one and he finally caught up at 90, another one I came across was scared I was gonna smoke him off the line (didn't catch a light & too much traffic). Those cars are top end cars (80+).

 

Well I know the L was no waste, but why not have the best of both. I have a 2000 Camaro Z28 thats running 13.4 stock and sadly enough it still outruns the 2000 L after the 1/8.
