And I saw the SVT Focus at Sean Hyland Motorsports. WooHoo. So what comes to mind.

I'm hoping that the Lightning can still take it!!!!

But, that doesn't mean some of us can't make a feeble attempt at creating a "Thunder".

I've done very few power mods to it, and had to keep the lighting running boards for my two little kids, but take a look at this link on my page...

Wow, Wes. That is a really nice setup you have there. That's the best looking Expedition I have ever seen!! Did it come with the egg-crate grill, or did you add that when you put the Lightning bumper on?

Man I like that.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. We've had it about 4 months, and my wife absolutely loves the thing...and that's what was most important.

I had to totally convert the front end. The L honeycomb grill inserts, and even the grill itself (b/c it was that chrome-plated thing to begin with...body shop didn't really feel good about prepping and painting that), and of course the bumper and its grill insert.

All in all it wasn't that bad. I got an XLT 5.4 with just the options I wanted b/c I knew I was going to do beforehand. My dealer was kind enough to do a search and locate for me, b/c I didn't want all the extra frills (upgraded wheel/tire pkg., body "appearance" pkg., stereo, etc) and then have to pull all that nice stuff off.

I work at the Expedition plant. There is a company built Expy up stairs with 20" rims a L motor ground effects and a wing on the back. I've seen it. Don't have any pictures. I'd probably get in trouble for that. They said they weren't sure about it becoming a production vehicle. We also had a Lincoln pickup up there in early '97. They are changing the body style in about a year for '02 model so I doubt if SVT would do any thing now. 2002 gets independent rear suppension. I've heard a three valve motor.

Any pics of the SVT Focus, WHAT04? I assume its going to be based on the ZX3 platform? Any word on what's under the hood? I think I need to get something to replace my wife's '92 rice burner.

Alphadoggy: http://www.caranddriver.com/FrameSet..._cm_00,00.html - for the Ford's Focus R concept
that will be under SVT here while Europe gets the AWD version under Cosworth.
Supposed to have 220 hp @ 5000 rpm, 245 lb.
ft. @ 4500 rpm (car weighs 2700 lbs but i

Again, thanks for the compliments folks.

The stock tires on the Expedition are taller than the L's. I didn't want to mess with having an inaccurate speedo, and low-profile tires on a 6500lb SUV wouldn't work too well, IMO.

They are 285/55-18 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. The ride is outstanding.

A few months back someone posted pictures of one, wheels, tires, ground effects, even the Lightning engine, its somewhere back there. I hope so, I bet they are gonna ask around $40k for it if it does come out. But you know how SUV's like to roll over, I think that would be a hurdle. Yes it was a Black Expedition. I think someone said it might be called the Ford Thunder or something.

WA 2 FST:

How much was the total cost on the front bumper on the Expedition?

I have a 1999 F-150 and my dealer told me it was going to cost $2,800 for all the parts, paint, and install a Lightning front bumper. I think its bull but I 'm not sure.

By the way the truck looks great.
