Angry S**t happens

The Fed-Ex guy arrives about noon with the SCSI cable I ordered for my new CD burner. Turns out I ordered the wrong cable. Duh. So, I decide to bite the bullet and drive to Fry's in Woodland Hills and get the right cable. Fortunately, they have it. As I head back toward Ventura I notice that the truck is pulling to the right. I think damn, the star washer fix didn't work. As I get on the freeway on-ramp there is a black Mustang right on my bumper, acting real racy. So, I punch it, and give the 'stang a good dose of L. exhaust. When I back off I notice the truck is REALLY pulling right, so I pull over and discover that the right front is flat, and emitting noxious smells of fried rubber. Call the Auto Club and they come out and change the tire (could do it myself, but hell, that's why I pay them). Drive back to Barber Ford and they inspect it and tell me the valve stem is cut, I must have hit a curb. Possible, but I don't recall coming close to any curbs at Fry's, and was stone sober, then (not now). So, take it over to Alex Acuna at 5 Day. He checks it out and tells me I need a new F1. Evidently 100 mph Mustang toasting blasts are not good for them unless they have air in them. Not in stock, either, and have to pay a premium to get tire by tomorrow, $279. Oh well, easy come, easy go, and at least my CD burner works now.

Hey alphadoggy,

Do what you want, but you can get the F1 for $221 at www.tirerack.com and I got rid of the L's rubber curb feelers at discount tires with these cool 1.5" chrome valve stems/valve covers.

If needed, like me you can get the wheel weight inserted on the inside, get a clue ford!

BTW I raced a standard convertible Mustang today up to 145 (he was dieing out at 115? max) about 5 times coming back from Pittsburgh TX.

Took about 2.5 hours but he was a bulldog in traffic. I kicked his *** again and again, and then I started to think this is a state trooper (convertible?) so I peeled off at 30 and 635, and we are both going way too fast 60mph in 35mph. At this point I said to myself give me the F#$king ticket.

It was a 20 something year old boy that never experienced an L. What a waste. Nice guy I guess he chase me for about 150 miles out of his way? The first words out his mouth was SVT on a PU truck Bull S%$T! BUT NOW, I THINK I REMEMBER SOMETHING.

Also for some of you I got 13th in 83 at Daytona AMA Super bike race so save your opinions towards yourself about my driving skills. You don’t even want to know about Korea, Germany, China (yes China), and my best run of all Nippon (Japan for the rest of you all).

Please insert your condescending post here!

Hey f1car,

I think everyone has concluded that criticizing everyone else about street racing just cuases big arguments, not much else. Some of us get caught, most of us don't, just be very carefull about it, I do not want to read about anyone in the paper, similar to the fellow on the ClubSi.com board.

I got second place at a bag-off competition once. (grocery bagging)

I would call Ford SVT and tell them why do they have to put so long of a valve stem one the truck the standard f-150 4x4 don't even have that long. I was think on changing mine. But I am afraid of getting the tire taking off the rim to have new stems put on then I will have some scratch maks on the rime from the wheel weight..

alphadoggy, do you have pictures of the valve stem?
Or better yet, the valve stem?
If you have digital pictures, I would love to see them.
