Anyone using this?
C&L has a kit for the lightning. It's a billet 80 mm mass air with filter and heat shield. They garuntee 20 H.P> at the wheels. They run a full page add in M&FastFords The lightning appl. is in the middle of the add. Thats all this company does is mass airs and it looks like it might be something to look into. Any info would be great. Thanks
frank ryan,
C&L is owned by Vortec or Vortec is owned by C&L. Whatever.....
I was never pleased with C&Ls mass air meter for the Mustang. Really didn't like the way their sampling tube was made, nor the way you needed to adjust the mass air meter to make it work correctly. Keep in mind that at the time I bought my C&L you removed your electronics from your stock MAF and put it on the C&L. That may have been some of the problems.
I noticed in the ad that the stock electronics came with the C&L MAF.
They seem a little pricey..... and 20HP possible, but more like 10 to 12 maybe.
For the price I woud try a Pro-M. You can get the Pro-M anywhere from $289 to $350 with filter, electronics and better performance.

I would have to agree with Jarmsto, I myself have never had good luck with their meters. There was plenty of times I had to wait for the right "sampling tube" Just never seemed right.

Does it look like this? I've had a C&L (Vortech) 80 mm MAF w/ K&N(no heat shield)
on my L since last summer prior to Sal bringing out his filter kit. I would say it added at least 20 HP, but most of the gain is probably from the K$N. I just got a different air tube to try in it Going racing Sunday. I'll let you know if it helped.

Lightning Bob,
Mine look's a little differant,I have the Pro
M MAF from S.H.M. K+N filter is a little smaller like a conical filter it has 3 stud's coming out from filter into MAF not a
large hose clamp.and my act sensor plugs into front side of filter, and why is your
MAF sensor so high up? mine sits like stock.
couldn't you turn it?
