Question about relocating the battery to the bed

I have been thinking about relocating the battery and the I/C reservoir to the bed to help remove some weight from the front. Is it a good idea to have the battery in the bed on a daily driver? I know I'll have to have the ON/OFF switch installed somewhere to be legal at the track. I just don't want some dude to walk by my truck in a parking lot and start messing with the switch. I guess I could conceal it somewhere, but is it okay to have a hidden switch when I go to the track? Any info you guys could offer would be appreciated.

If you'll be running at an NHRA track, this is what the rule book says.

"An electrical power cutoff switch must be installed on the rearmost part of each vehicle and be easily accessible from outside the car body. This cutoff switch must be connected to the positive side of the electrical system and must stop all electrical functions including magneto ignition. The off position must be clearly indicated with the word "OFF"."

That's a sweet looking set-up Vinnie. How about a write-up on how you did yours?

Easy write-up.

When you fill out the check make sure it says 'JDM Engineering'. LOL

I don't touch electrical.

But Chiefal40 is an electrician and he did the same thing as me and he did his own. I will call him tomorrow and have him post up the directions.
