Post A Natural Combination

After looking at literally hundreds of signatures on this board, I've noticed that nobody has gone for the Ford/Buell Lightning/Lightning combination. Wouldn't this be pretty much the ultimate? I realize that the Buell is a little on the "sluggish" side for a bike and low-tech also (at least the Ford version is an OHC), but it's similarly "brutish" in its styling and (North) American made, at that.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one out there who has thought about this...

There's a huge Buell dealer right across the street from where my wife works. Maybe we could organize a "group buy" - like the air filters and floormats.

Nice try, chief. You obviously know that silver is the fastest. I'm glad to see that SOMEBODY out there has the Lightning/Lightning combination. Let's face it - it just makes sense.

Since we're not making any headway on the silver/white trade, how about a swap to bring the (matching silver) Buell into my stable? I'm not sure what you're looking for, but I can offer you a couple stray cats, a used chainsaw, some carpet remnants, and 100 feet of garden hose. Any chance? I would have been able to offer several pieces of wet, moldy worn-out furniture and a couple old Christmas trees as well, but we fed a bonfire recently with them. Truly a shame if that's what it would have taken to make the deal happen.

My son has one of those Buell Lightnings. It's a piece of junk. He's been through 3 or 4 blown engines which so far have been replaced under warranty. However, it takes so long to get the parts that he rarely has the bike for long. I advised him to get it fixed one more time and sell it. He agreed as there is now something better out there that he wants!

Yes, I live on the outskirts of the Milford that you're familiar with. I haven't been to Edgewater yet, but plan to run there on occasion once I get the beast broken in. I've only managed about 300 miles so far, and the weather this weekend didn't help a whole lot. I'm figuring about 3000 miles and then go flog it at the track.

Are Lightnings well-represented there? Maybe we could manage some sort of get-together late this summer. There are a couple others from Cincy who are active on this board. I've yet to spot any of them on the street, so I'm not sure where the Lightnings prowl down here.

My lightning has been to edgewater 3 times now... I met ice pick there last time. (side note: his gen 1 kicked my ***, but thats another story)

I haven't seen another gen 2 down there yet, I was hoping to see factory tech (gregg) but I don't know what happened.

Anyway, I'm always up for an edgewater racing, and maybe this time I'll have a little juice installed.
