Post Question for the experienced hauler ?

I just ordered up some sod for my front yard at the Home Depot. I thought I would just go down to the depot and pick it up. Then I found out it will weigh about 2,300 pounds. Anyone ever put that much weight in their L or anything close. I know they are rated at 800 pound payload. I have put 1,100 pounds in and it did fine. Please let me know. Thanks.

1,100 lbs. maybe for a short trip; but, any more than that, you risk maybe not breaking your springs but pushing them to a point where they loose the spring action. Not worth it. Just make a few trips or rent a trailor and tow it. Ratings are for a reason.

You'll be riding on the jounce bumpers. Rough at best, and very hard on the truck.

BadBolt and 98_SVT_COBRA thanks for the quick response. I think I will make two trips, the Depot is not very far and I do not want to tweek the springs. Anyone else try putting a heavy load in their truck?
