Longest Drive

What is the longest/farthest distance you have driven your Ligthning? Just curious who takes a road trip with their L.

As for myself, in April 05 I bought my new truck in Tampa, FL. Then, I ventured back to Albuquerque for a total of about 1900 miles. Later that year (June) 2 days after an SVTOA on track event we had a family emergency back in PA. So after a brake fluid and oil change, we were off to eastern PA. The first day we drove straight to St. Louis alittle over 1000 miles non stop. A total of 1950 miles one way, 2 weeks later we drove back here to Albuquerque. No problems. So about 5800 solid highway miles for me. With a bed full of stuff, #4 pulley, and other bolt-ons, I averaged about 16.5 mpg.

I have had many long trips in my L

Florida twice (1000 miles each way) Once was only shutting the truck off for about 5 minutes total (gas stops) in 18 hours of driving home. This was after racing low 11s.
Ohio twice (550) Also drove staight home 1 stop , 8 hours.
Indiana twice (650)
Virgina 4 times (350)
New hampshire 3 times (300)

The L is a very comfortable tryck for long trips.

Flew to Detroit, bought my L 30 minutes after seeing it for the 1st time, and drove 15.5 hours straight home to Florida in it (4#, Bassani, etc). It was magical.

When I bought my truck in FL, I drove it to NC and then to WI. I go from NC to WI at least once a year, sometimes twice.

Two and a half years ago I drove from Sierra Vista, AZ to Arlington, VA; about 2300 miles. Then it took a long boat ride to Italy. Two weeks ago, picked the truck up in New Orleans, and drove back to Sierra Vista. Not a single problem on the road...quite enjoyable in fact.

2k miles each way last September to Lightning Fest in KC, MO. Only problem was I had to replace my battery on the way home. Bought an Optima Yellow Top in South Dakota somewhere...

I had to give this alot of thought after 3 plus years of ownership.

The longest drive I had was to a party at a friends house who lives between San Antonio and Seguin 41 miles each way.

Dammm, I have never taken this truck on a road trip !! I need to go to a Fun Ford Weekend or something at least to Dallas.

You must have a job like my son used to have. He's made that same AZ to VA trip before. Of course, he ended up in a less pleasant place than Naples. He's now out, however, and doing legal work here in the states.

Regarding trips, I just returned from a 1,000 mile trip (one of many over the past 6 years) and the L was, as usual, perfect. What a great road trip vehicle!
