Those numbers are awesome for the 600's! Be careful on those bumpy roads, Wildchild. Once that 110+ mph breeze gets underneath your bottom side, it might just take you all the way over.
I don't keep my mags around, but I figure real world, average riders would have a hard time duplicating the magazine numbers. Joe Average on a typical 3-5 year old CBR600F2 or F3 could still do 145 top and a sub 12 quarter, while watching Wildchild, Screamin' Silver and Bimota Boy leave him in the dust.
What does the big Valkyrie do in the quarter?

dave: i definitely watch it a little closer on bumpy roads since then. i'm a little too old to be going home telling my kids how the bike threw me off.
maybe we should try to get some of us with bikes together this year.
anyone going to the honda hoot this year? my girlfriend wants to go seeing as she is from N.C. and drives a honda shadow. used to be a honda man myself until i seen that little ninja. would love to run those mountains though. last ride before the bike gets sold maybe. thinking about going back to cruisers, it's easier for my son to ride with that way.

My wife and I went to the "Hoot" last year. The Blue Ridge Parkway is unbelievable. You've got to experience it at least once.

no it's the honda hoot, sponsered by honda and honda riders club. mostly hondas but all other bikes are invited also.
five day rally including vendors, bike runs, shows, and white water rafting among other things.

Terry, yeah, we should hook up some time. Always nice to go on a non-solo ride. I'm taking the California Superbike School for 3 days up at Road America in June. Then the AMA Superbike races are on the weekend after. You plan on going? Figure on getting some guys together and riding up there for the races.
DBDave, I got numbers on 3 versions of the Valkyrie:
F6 Valkyrie 12.02@110.7 top 131
Valkyrie Tourer 12.52@103.9 top 118
Valkyrie Interstate 12.76@100.89 top 118
Yeah most street riders would be hard pressed to duplicate mag numbers. They're murder on clutches among other parts.

Thanks for the figures, BimotaBoy.
BTW, I bought a used bike about six years ago from a guy with one of the early Bimotas in his stable. I think it was an SB2 ?; Had a big air cooled Suzuki, GS1100 engine I think. Beautiful craftsmanship, and he said it handled pretty well for a big bore. Those Italians sure know how to build a bike that will make you drool. I'm sure you'll be enjoying yours come spring time.

yeah would be great to make a run there maybe.
goodluck with the school.

with the light wieght chassis, 100+ hp, these new gen 600 are a terror on the street and the track. They get into the power like now. I hang with a different crowd of maniacs....drag racers! Now most the 600 competing in the 600 supersport class are running from a high of 10.80s to a low of 10.03 at 135+ mph in the 1320. if you really want to see some excitement go to a prostar event and watch the streetbike shootout class!! Ever see a street tire bike 68 inches long smoke the tire or pull the front wheel off the ground around the 1000 ft mark?low 8's 170 + mph in the 1320...now thats ballzeeeeee
