Hey Guys,
Went down to the Chev. dealer and had him put me on the list for a new Chev. SSR to replace the SS my wife has.
Does anyone know where I can find information about up grading the Vortec 6000. Or do you know anyone that will take the truck before I have it deliver and work on the engine?

Mods to a 3/4 ton (work truck only) engine can be expensive, because of the small demand for performance parts. i've done this and parts were 2-3 times the price of the smaller, much more popular engines. what else do they use that engine in? any hi-pro apps. how many SSR's are they going to make? 5-6 yr run like the "L"? is there any underhood space, or is it packed like the F-bods

I bet that's what took Chevrolet's Silverado SS budget, the ssr. I also hear we have nothing to fear from that thing. However, like our Lightnings, I bet that thing will have good resale value once its starts to rattle.

How much are they asking for the ssr?
My wife has been on me to get a ss. Now I'd love for her to get that ssr.

Thanks for the help. I do not know how much the truck will be or when it will be in. The dealer had not even heard of the SSR, but when I ordered the 99 SS he had not heard of that either.
Called him today and he told me he had someone putting the whipple chargers on for him and we could include that and an intercooler with the price if I wanted. I will go down and see how much for the package but I am pretty sure I will have to have it, as the wife will not be very happy if the red truck is able to beat her. Her SS eats me up when she runs across me in town.
