You're kidding, right>??? A farm truck>??? When I had my Lightning it was my pride and joy for those 4.5 years. Sure I threw **** in the bed, towed with it and all. That doesn't mean it deserves to get hit with shopping carts and careless people's car doors!!! Your logic of thinking is retarded. I manage to keep my vehicles dent and ding free and look out for other's vehicle at the same time. If everyone had some respect and sense we wouldn't have these issues. -Mat-

I'm not going to argue with you. You are entitled to your opinion and I'll refrain from calling it retarded.

FACTS:
I've owned show cars with over $10,000 in paint alone and still have '69 and '70 mustangs. I know how to treat special and rare vehicles. Unfortaunately, as many many people said on this website forum, the Lightning isn't that rare as they were produced for 5 years. People were crying that Ford kept producing them, complaining that the value and rareness of the truck was dwindling. Ironically, these same exact people complained when the Gen 3 was cancelled.

Parking

With all said above mine don't get parked anywhere that is not safe. I'm one of those guys that takes up 2 spots at the back of the parking lot. Hopefully that will keep the dings of the sides. Never never the Walmart parking lot!
Maybe I'm over protective howelse do you keep it from looking like crap.

I wouldn't care if they built a billion Lightnings, that wouldn't stop me from taking care of MY Lightning.
My Dually is mass produced and gets the same treatment, because I repsect and care about the appearance of my vehicle. -Mat-

The problem with that is when someone drives by that's having an exceptionally bad day and notices you're taking up two spots, he decides to completely destroy the truck by keying it or whatever just because he's cranky and knows that you're trying to protect your truck. I'd rather take a small ding to the door then something like that anyday.

Don, sorry about your plate. I have found that most theives will case out the vehicle first to see any visible signs of an alarm (the easier target theory). They don't want to attract attention, especially by running the chance of setting off an audible.

Of course it wouldn't help with the stolen plate. But I guess the value of the plate is pretty cheap compared to a broken window/lock. Again...people suck.

I replaced my alarm's standard led with a superbright that really shows up, day or night. There are led scanners available that really grab your attention but may be a little ricey for an L.

Part of the reason I hardly drive my truck is because I won’t park in next to another car. Unless I’m going for a joy ride the only time I will drive it somewhere is if I know the location has a huge parking lot or it’s someone’s driveway.

I don’t know what other states are like but here in Massachusetts it seams like most people don’t give a sh*t about their vehicles. My wife thinks I’m insane and so do most of my friends but all of their cars have dings all over them. I swear I’ve seen it hundreds of times in parking lots, people just throw open their doors and ding the sh*t out people’s cars. The worst part is that if the damage looks like it’s less than $500 you are not required to leave a note or anything.

I purposely bought a DD that had scratches and dings so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it all the time. Some people out there just blow my mind.

Is that really the law there>??? I hate MA. anyways so I don't go there, that is a joke though. But hey, CT could have the same law and I just don't know about it. Most people won't leave a note anyways. This world is going to ****. They stopped giving out morals and common sense a long time ago.

OH sweet jesus, the id 10 t's are coming out of the woodwork, please get your facts straight.

1. It was not a dodge intrepid.
2. It is not chameleon paint job.

I'll help you a little:
1. It was originally purchased by Dupont, completely stripped inside and out and painted CHROMALUSION, suspension modifications, drivetrain modifications, stereo modifications, appearance modifications.
2. Afterwards Dupont trailered the car to hundreds, if not thousands of car shows across the USA and Canada for 2.5 years.
3. It was featured in several magazine articles.
4. The car was sold by Dupont to me at an rmcars.com auction at the woodward dreamcruise.
5. I have no idea how many trophies and awards I won with it, but there are a lot.

Rice? I think not. fast and Furious? I think not.

I sold the car on Ebay to a soldier just returning from the middle east. I drove it down to him in Tennessee. We still talk and it is still winning car shows left and right. The only change he did was to put different rims on it.

oh please... I sold that car years before the term "RICER" was even used. I guess the rear Cervani spoiler I have on my Lightning makes me a RICER?
Or the fact that I lowered the Lightning? Or the fact that it has large rims?

Maybe because I didn't paint the '69 mustang stock color I'm a ricer? Or the fact that the '70 mustang is yellow, that MUST MEAN I"M A RICER?

Damn i thought we were through with you when you sold your truck. Guess not.

RESPECT PEOPLES PROPERTY, thats the bottom line, the issue is for most people a vehicle is just transportation, period, go to work, go to mall, go to bar ect... a ding here a scratch there is no problem the car still looks OK, runs fine so whats the issue. When you buy something you care about so much only to have someone that doesn't get it ding your vehicle it only make matters worse, while these no excuse for there actions it's going to happen in any public area sooner or later why because it doesen't affect them and most people don't care, once you finally accept that you can solve the problem, the fix is to buy something for daily transportation, for the past 4 1/2 years I owned the L plus I have a company car, lucky, yes, but for a few grand you can pick up something that gets you around with no parking lot worries, I just bought a Jeep Commander now that the L in almost paid off, did I like the SRT 8 Jeep, yes, and I would have loved to bang around in one but thats the issue, I needed something I liked but didn't love, while I care for my vehicles better than most if it get dinged, it's OK, a srcatch or two adds character on a Jeep, if you love it that much make it a weekend ride, car shows, beach drive buys and track events you get the idea, problem solved.
