I Have Been Given A Choice My Lightning Or My Girl Friend ???
Tim the post rules!
As for the thread, it's a vehicle man, if your committed to this girl and she has a hard-on for the truck and the money you spend on learn the art of covert modding, pick up some extra hours or a part time gig and play on the extra cash, it get cold at night, unless your into steel and tailpipes
Dont be stupid keep the girl, T

I'm going to send her some pants since she obviously wears them in your realtionship. Good luck Shirley.
Did I spell your name right?

Somebody asked me who wears the pants in my house, me or my wife. I told them nobody when everything is going good.
I'm with everyone else. (If she does this today, what will she do tomorrow. That's what my x wife did, and that is why she is my X) And besides, no matter how GOOD she looks, there is some guy out there tried of her BS already. Except my wife, she is always asking me when am I leaving again for another bike trip, or she'll ask, you have not be out for a while, you want to go out to night with the guys. Gotta love her, she's the best.

my fiancee has little to negative amounts of interest in motoring in general - she likes the L as it's more comforatable than may previous vehicle (a Camaro) but that's as far as it goes... she knows that cars are important to me and comes to shows/meetings since that is what I like
the only proviso is that if finances get tight or either of our jobs go then the L has to be sold
but in my opion that is just common sense especially since it is just a toy
a previous partner wanted me to stop dreaming of cars and enjoying them (I ".... should grow up....") guess that's why she's an (umissed!!) ex
I guess what I'm trying to say is that in all relationships there has to be a happy medium, a little give and take if either partner is doing a whole lot more of one or the other then things need to be talked about... if all you are doing is coming in from work and walking straight through to the garage to play with your truck stopping just before bedtime for a quickie then she has a point... on the other hand if you're spending 2-3 hours a week on it then maybe you need to think about what is important to you... put it another way if the wife of a buddy of yours had a hobby he hated and she spent as much time on it as you do your truck - what would you think and say

A man needs a truck. A woman needs a man. Ergo, a woman needs a truck.

Hats off to you Timay.
Just for the record ... My "Pit Babe" changes tires, torques wheels and
checks tire pressures between sessions. Bleeds brakes and times laps.
And after a day of racing (Or playing under the tonneau on rain laps!)
I get a great back rub and massage because "Driving makes you concentrate
too hard, and you need to relax!"
Gentlemen, there IS a GOD, and there ARE women that not only understand,
but share our passions. (Look at Vinnie and Teri!)
tlfwatch, Keep looking ...

Your the man Cliff. You have got to be doing something right.
If you protect her and do everything your supposed to, she'll be there for you forever.
If you treat her rough, or neglect her, you can always patch things up like brand new.
If another takes up the time you could have been spending with her, she'll still be there when you come back around.
With her, you always get back what you put in... and sometimes more.
She will never stray.
You know damned well I'm not talking about a woman.

Well, this was a big secret, but here goes...
My wife of 15 years left me last month. I didn't seek a divorce and have all kinds of theories of what happened, some of which border on the tin foil hat people, but that said,,,
If she wanted my lightning gone, and would come back, the lightning goes, if she wants the Mach 1 gone, it goes, if she wants the '51 Ford gone, it goes, if she wants the 65 Mustang gone, it's gonna go. At this place I'm in, she can take verything I own and give it to charity, if she comes back, it's worth it and more to me. I've owned a lot of very nice cars, nice toys, nice airplanes and a nice house, and she can trash it all. Don't know where you're at, but for me, nothing of mine that is a thing is worth it to me.

Ouch man, I feel your pain. It's nice to see another guy that cares for a woman as deeply as I do (did, sigh). The girl I dated for 4 years left me a year ago and it's been unbearable over the last year. I bought myself a 36k truck, dumped 12k into, bought a $5,500 home theatre setup, a second new car, system for that...more clothes than Paris Hilton, and yet...she's still on my mind.
If you find a girl you REALLY love, then do whatever it takes to keep her happy and around. If it's just "another girl" then kick her to the curb and find someone worth loving.

I now have 2 girlfriends.......one for each L.
