Well my girl friend has given me a choice my lightning or her she says i spend to much time on my lightning. I have been with her three years i am looking at it like this they are not making lightnings any more and they are lots of girls out there so i plan on keeping my lightning

Only you know your situation. However *most likely* one day that truck will be in a bone yard or in a crusher. And a good Lady by your side can help bring back the memories of "those good ole days".

Sorry but a "good lady" wouldnt give an ultimatum like that. I can see a mature conversation asking for more quality time but I wouldnt put upv with a this or that conversation. Sounds like a drama queen.

I have a lightning, mustang, 2 waverunners and a boat, all have some sort of mods on them. I am always working on them or cleaning them. My girl knows she has no say in the matter about that. She does however sometimes ask me to not play with the truck today and do something with her, which of coarse i tell her to F off (just kidding). If it gets to her, she asks nicely and i put down my wrenches for the day. I would drop her like a fly if she gave you an ultimatum.
Just think you are not married yet, if she is doing this now when she is just a girlfriend, imagine what she will be like if you marry her and she gets her hooks into you.

Stop humping your exhaust and spend some time with her!!!

I'd like to hear her side of the story. My wife over the years has let me put 20k into my Lightning and sometimes she would mention I was spending too much time on the truck. I respected that and I made sure to plan something special with her. It is all about compromise.

Agreed! There are ways she could go about asking you to spend more time with her...like getting involved...or if thats not her thing, asking nicely for more time with her. As others said...what happens when you get married???? "If you put another coat of wax on that thing....We're getting a divorce! AND I'm taking the house, the dog, and your truck just so I can sell it!!!!"

There are women out there like that, and they are evil biatches....stop her now before she does it more to you, or the next guy she tries to control!

 

just imagine the divorce, she gets the truck, then keys the crap out of it and parks it on your lawn....ditch her!!!!!!!!

but i would never be put in that situation. 3 years is a long time but think of it this way, now it's the truck.......what's it gonna be next??? **** don't end up working out and you'll miss your truck. If she really cared about you, she wouldn't be jealous of an automobile, and wouldn't make you sacrifice your fun, unless their are other things that you over indulge in.

My girl knew nothing about cars, racing ect. We've been together 6 years and are getting married next year. She knows more about the damn truck now then half the people out there. My truck, racing (which i don't have much time for anymore), is my only real hobby. I gave up my band and the music scene some time ago. A man has to have something.

I with the majority here! You need to compromise. I've got a similiar situation, but I'm getting married in my scenario. Been trying to get things together for the wedding, pay for the honeymoon, and still put parts on my truck. We have a deal. If we buy something for the house (Of course with my money), then I can spend whatever I have left on a part(s) for my truck. It's a trade off....a uneven trade-off, but it works! I suggest you spend a little quality time with her to get her off of your back! You've been with her for 3 years...she must have some pretty good qualities.

Let her know you're willing to compromise, but to never give you an ultimatum ever again.
