Just got the front MB components in....
Everyone,
I finally got the front components in. I went with MB Quart 5 1/4 separates. The install was pretty straight forward, all items fit in the factory location with only a 1/4" wooden adapter.
The crossover fits convienently on the lower part of the door like:
I covered the tweeters and angled mounting bracket in black lycra tights. Hey, it matches perfectly and holds up good. I just think it looks a little more stealth than the metal tweeter cover for everyone to see.
NOTE: You must be very careful when cutting the tweeter hole. Don't cut too low, or you will cut the plastic mounting ear. Its hard to get a good flus mount because the triangle piece at the top is curved and angled.
Also, if you have doubts about cutting wood or a little metal from your door, have it installed.
Anyway, it sounds another 100% better. You cant beat the seperation of the highs. For those that that haven't ever experienced a good set of components, check em out and do it!!!

I like the mb quarts, but they're too bright for me. So I went with the polk dx 6.5s, I mounted my tweeters in teh stock location also, so it's completely unseen, cept the deck, and digital eq. Can't wait to finish my system here in a month or 2
