Thumbs down Why Air Raid

Hey, I new to this site and there seem to be a lot of folks that are going with the Air Raid. Don't mean to flame but why? Heck it only an air filter and from what I've seen in terms of dyno numbers it not worth much more than putting a K&N in the stock air box. Maybe if you were including a new mass air meter in the swap I could see benefit.

Your filter is sealed off from hot air, keeps very clean, it was recommended as an option avalible sooner than Sal's filter. Every little bit helps.
I think it looks good too (with a white SuperChips sticker on the back panel.)

Just more macho than the stock box.

And when one installs the Big Mouth filter into the Airaid box, nothing could be finer!

Vette eater,

Exactly what Fordsales and Zor said.

It may not be substantial as far as dyno numbers by itself, but IS a good step when one opts for a chip. I have the Airaid and Powerstack/S&B/Big mouth filter and am very happy. The sheer blower whine causes an evil grin to sneak onto my (and most everyone elses for that matter) face/s whilst stomping the loud pedal. Decibels don't equal more HP, but it is a good first step.

Don't get me wrong, Sals filter "wrap" provides good shielding too.

One magazine likened the stock assembly to running a marathon using a snorkle. get the drift. B-R-E-A-T-H-E grasshopper......

Just a $.05.

I'll correct myself before someone else does. Sal's "wrap" is a prefilter. My Bad. Sorry Sal.
