DYNO INFO...
thepawn: I believe I saw a photo of a fuel cell in the bed of the truck in one of the posts. I'm thinking it's his. I searched but couldn't find it.

Hey Bob!
NA NA NA NA NA - I still make more horsepower than you do. Can I have the Dyno Queen title. If you would just not whip my butt at the drags everything would be cool. See horsepower is not eveything. Nice job Bob.

Hey all, Sal here. Since we are on the subject of dyno numbers, Spiro asked me to post something we did at the WFC. This picture is a dyno graph of two trucks. The red and blue runs are Johnny Lightning's pulls with the Superchip Race program that Mike Troyer reffers to. The green pull is Spiro's truck running the PSP race program. We WERE all running 104 octane, but that's because that was the lowest the track had for sale. The program did detonate slightly with 93 octane, and Spiro hs told me that is goes away with a can of octane boost, while I have not experianced any detonation as of yet with the 93 and this program. Spiro's pull was the day before Johhnys, but both days had similar air. I requested the overlapped dyno graph to see how each "race" program compared. The guy from Superchips just kinda stared at it with no expression
Oh, and keep in mind these are SECOND GEAR pulls on both trucks. Add about 10% to the hp numbers for corrected hp numbers.

So the supperchipsahoy guy look at the dyno plot from two different trucks with different break ins, different days, and two different chips, and was speech-less. (Just knew there was a ringer maybe?)
This has almost no significance, I don’t know if your program makes more power, but the comparison of two different trucks doesn’t mean much to me.
HRA
So what is the frog up to?
Last I heard The Ghost had a Bassani and a supperchipahoy, anything else?
So what does "Pro Paul" think your converter is doing?

Dorgunr,
I'd me more then willing to even get a small picture in any kind of magazine. I figured the only way that would happen if I went to some big event and caught someones attention.
Pace18,
The hood on the Rooster is simular but it is a custom piece.

Good going Sal, I have a SuperChip and
I think you are doing great, those that say there is not "any" rivalry between you and SuperChip are kidding themselves.
Competition, that's what makes live interesting. A local guy has a PSP chip and gears, he ran 13.9 on the same night as my 13.5 so he has not held up his end of the bargain for you. I don't expect an answer
but your filter has plasic all around it, how does the air get thru the filter.
The pictures depict just an opening at the end, if true how does the filter really filter ? If it filters only at the end, is not that a smaller area than the entire filter surface and therefore restrictive ? Just asking.

That is a pre filter and keeps the large particles from sticking to the oiled filter. Its a fine nylon type material.

Hey Dorgunr, where do you see plastic? I don't use any plastic on my filter kits. The intake tubes are powdercoated steel and the filters are, well, filters. ??
Competition is what makes business. There will always be competition between any companies offering the same product. I admitted a long time ago that the Superchip for the new Lightning worked well. No secret there. But being the kind of person I am, I always thrive to be that much better. Without trying to sound like I'm bragging, there is probably nobody out there who has the experiance that I have when it comes to all around Lightning performance and knowledge. Many people here only know me from the PSP aspect, but don't forget that I founded the National Lightning Owners Club, and have been invloved with anything Lightning for many years. The fact that I do nothing but Lightnings, allows me to make my products that much better, based on the thousands of hours spent tuning nothing but Lightnings. I make sure evey aspect of the tuning process is taken care of, no matter how small and issue. And this reflects in my chips. Any good tuner could probably make a Lightning turn impressive WOT numbers, but after you leave his shop, every other aspect of driving is the same. I try not to do any "competitor bashing" because that's not professional. Sure, I make small remarks of that nature, but they are usually in defense of myself. If I wanted to throw fuel on the PSP vs Superchips thing, I would have posted this graph the day I got back from the WFC. But I didn't even plan to, and was asked by Spiro to post it, and just inform everyone of the conditions and let them make thier own conclusions. I like the competitiveness, it keeps us manufacturers on our toes
I sometimes sit back and laugh at some of the Superchip's posts (by the company, not the owners) because they are starting to try stuff I did a year ago and I know does not help or work. Superchips is obviously bothered by the PSP competition, even though they probably sell a gazillion times more Lightning chips that I do. Lately they have been really trying to "out-do" other competitors chips. This was evident at the WFC, where they made Johhny Lightning's "race" program on the spot, payed for part of his dyno pulls, and even bought him a set of Mickey Thompson tires to help his Superchip truck run faster than the PSP trucks. I was kinda surprised by this, as it seemed more out of desperation than good will, because you know they don't do this on a regular basis
But hey, cool for Johnny
As I said, I don't mind the competitiveness, as long as it doesn't get nasty as it sometimes can.

Sal I am waiting for your chip as fast as I can..
Hopefully it will beat the Snow...
When I get it I will do back to backs with Superchip vs Swanson vs PSP
I will post the acceleration curves for each chip along with the 60' 1/8 1/4 et's & mph's
P.S. it's been over 2 weeks of waiting for the SuperChip todate.
Sal,
Very well said, I mistook, the pre-filter in
the picture for plastic. (it kind of looked shiny) Now I know.
I have a friend that has a 99 Mustang GT, what chip for his car would you recommend ?

I'll be able to do some apples to apples comparisons too since I got tired of waiting for Sals chip and ordered a Superchip which should be here tomorrow. When I get Sals chip I will take em both to the Dyno and the track and try em out. Should make for some good fun. Which ever works out best and drives best will stay in the truck the other will either go in the classifieds.
