Oh, the code is definitely there. Surprised the hell out of my tech. I just wish he was a little better with the computer to see what he could wring out of it. Seemed sort of perturbed that he got caught with his pants down.

Oh well.

Do you really think tthat Ford would sell us one of these things? Could be a fun little business. Bet you could rack up some AirMiles with UPS too.

It would be cool to have but exactly what can be done with it and to what extent it would retune our L's would have to be seen. To bad somebody on the board doesn't have a friend who works at a dealership to give us the lowdown on it.

Looking at the hypertech ad it manages the same types of settings that the Factory Techs can, Specifically the gear ratio changes and the tire changes.....

Has anyone tried one ?? https://www.f150online.com/cgi-bin/f....html&CODE=145

Hypertech.......
Optimized Spark Advance and Air/Fuel Delivery
Raised RPM Limiter
Lower Fan Temperature Operation
Optimized Shift Points
Increased Shift Firmness
Correct Transmission Shifts and Speedometer for Rear Axle Ratio or Tire Size Changes
Raise Top Speed Limiter to agree with the Tire Speed Rating

I think the power programmer 111 is available for 1998 F150's only. Also my brother told me that these are not interchangeable. Only works for 1 vehicle.

Hi all,

I e-mailed Mike Troyer last night about a Superchips Ford Micro Tuner(similar to Hypertech). He said that they are not going to make anything until Ford does something with their computer design. He also said all L's come from the factory set at 90 octane(I guess he works there to know this.lol). He said you might find one here or there that isn't. I guess it is up to each one of you owners to decide if you want to make sure where yours is set. If you are happy, forget about and enjoy. If you have to know, make an apppointment with your dealer. Mine is not the first one found to be set at 87 octane. Probably won't be the last either.

Does anybody has access to a shop manual? Maybe that would give a definitive answer.
