Post FMOS Racing

grad student...well I guess I'm glad I didn't join your club. No controversy allowed there. Somebody says something supid here and they get corrected real fast. We all learn something. I just don't like somebody to say you shouldn't mention something that honestly occurs to them. (perhaps in error) but there is an issue with "some" 00s because of "possible" stock setups. But I'll let that go. Don't worry I won't post anything on NLOC, even tho I was trying to get guys posting there more.

Good racing to you, hope you get a chance to
race my black-eared BOLT some time. : ^ o

JEFF, don't you have a "white" doublenaught"?
is this a racial issue, or an educational one?

dorgunr,
Jeff is away from his computer for a couple of days. Here is my take on the subject.

All Jeff's comments were meant to do was clarify his standpoint that we shouldn't jump to conclusions that there are performance differences between the 99 and 00 trucks based on a couple of people's experiences. I'm sorry you considered his comments to be offensive at https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/003689.html

The NLOC is a club for Lightning enthusiasts, not for Jeff's benefit. Your not joining it doesn't punish him.

Just some advise, people respond much better if you bring their attention to an "error" or "opinion" with out singling out an individual.

Quote "Dor - I just get amused at the number of edge-of-controversy threads that have your name at the top of them... it tickles me." condescending smirk from FMOS Racing.

Your right, I guess I kind of got defensive
at this and when he said he was a grad student, well I guess that makes his opinion more valid than the rest of us non-grad students. Apparently, FMOS Racing didn't understand I threw the topic out for discussion, and never implied it was an absolute fact. He made it personal first, don't ya think. But your right, I was a little too touchy about the remark.

Dor, at the risk of not following my own advise, you are right. He did single you out with that post. Anyway, I don't want to start anything with anyone. I think he was just making a simple statement, but cluttered it with a little bragging.

FMOS, I think you see what I'm getting at. No offense is intended.

I guess that for me, the term "grad school" has no more inherent value to supporting a side in an argument than does saying, "I have green eyes." I didn't realize it came across as bullying or bragging. (BTW, I'm not a grad student. That was quite a while back.)

What I TRIED to say was that everyone was entitled to their own opinion for whatever reason, and my past experiences were responsible for mine.

I have spent time in an environment where someone making sweeping generalizations without sufficient data or evidence to support the statements would get them cut off at the knees. I didn't think it was fair to make the performance claims based on such a limited amount of data and also to say that not everyone shared that opinion.

I do still get to have my own opinions. I keep a LOT of them to myself because of my involvement with the club, but I am still entitled to state them every once in a while.

And Dor, I do feel that you really enjoy stirring the pot. Nothing in that is negative. In an environment where people know me, I rather enjoy playing Devil's Advocate myself. But I think this whole thread is a case-in-point since you could have just as easily responded to me directly instead of posting a public message.

And Dave, should I admit publicly that my '00 wears a "white hood" and was delivered in Livingston Parish???

FMOS Racing ..Guilty as charged, ( I guess)

By the way, the blacked-eared BOLT is my
rather crude way of cleverly identifying my BOLT as a '99. flat out the quickest BOLT ever built by FORD. : ^ )
They all have black mirrors (ears) (tip fold in the ears, gives you .1 in the 1/4)
(for those of you who don't appreciate my
jargon, sorry, it had nothing to do with the human race.)

You can't out-crude a coonass anywhooos, (it was a joke, sorry). mines a black 99 also, sans cowl screw covers (the factory lightweight version), but it is ironic that the 2 fastest members of the "Redskins" are Deon Sanders and Darrel Green

Unhappy

Hey All
I have a 99 with about 4,000mi on it that is going to be replaced by a 00. I drove the 99 about 50mi over to test drive the new one and check it out, so it was good and warmed up, it does not seem to run as good till it gets good and warm. The 00 had only about 5mi on it so I did not nail it real hard but there seemed to be a big difference from about 70mhp to over 100mph. The 00 did not get it near as quick.
In a week or so I will have the 00 so hopefully there will not be that big dfference I think there is between these two L's

Cool

Super: For some reason, people keep laughing at me when I say that!! I don't know why no one believes me....

Wiley: People say these trucks need to loosen up, so maybe that explains it? I drove mine about 500 miles before even toeing into it good and it didn't see a from-a-stop full throttle blast until I pulled it onto the track at St Louis with 1200 miles on it... whatever that's worth. I went there hoping it would run better than a 14.0 and when it ripped off a string of low 13.7s and culminated in a 13.68, I was pretty dang happy with that!!

Baby Jake and I had the only two 2000s racing in St Louis. He cracked 100 mph, I ran 99.5. His best ET was a 13.8x. Maybe he and I just got lucky?
