My truck did almost the same thing. I had a cracked insulator on the plug. Also what plugs are you using and what gap? Below are my mods.

Check your coil packs. My #8 pack went out about 2 weeks ago. If it is a coil pack you might want to buy the whole set someone has listed in the classifieds. Dealer charges $175 for one coil pack and this guy wants $210 shipped for 8 coil packs brand new in the box. A lot of time the boot on the coil pack will become corroded and cause the coil pack to overwork itself and burn-up. I also, burnt the tip off of my 1 week old TR6 plug (on the #8 cylinder).

Thanks,

yup

I was going to say coil pack.

I've gone through a few. Truck is 6 years old but only has 21k.

First time it happened, i was at a light on the highway. I got on it a bit and once I hooked i hammered it and the truck just fell over. Thought I lost the motor. Bad pack.

What are you using for a tune/chip??
