Hey Whitelite99, I am still interested in these lights if it is going to be a reality. I personally prefer HID unless cost is totally out of line..... If you have an e-mail address for the mfg. please post so we can express or interest!!!

Time for the monthly update

Those look like the same lights as the Cougar. When the woman was shopping for a new car I had asked how much a replacement light was for the Cougar and was told "they don't burn out", anyway they finally told me $1100 to replace. He may have just been blowing smoke but why would he when we were shopping for a car. Give me HID instead...

when I was shopping for HID fog-lights for my old van (now deceased), they were $500, so I can see headlights going for $1k.

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay in posting back, been very busy. At present, the "bean counters" at Ford have nixed the idea of producing the projector assembly. I've also been working with the aftermarket companies, but it's rough though, trying to get them to drop $100G's for tooling. Well, the clear corners and taillights were a hard sell, but in the end they went for it. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

For those who can't wait, there is an aftermarket H.I.D. bulb & ballast conversion kit available..."some assembly required" and not cheap either.

Just saw this thread with the awesome scuba headlights on the F150 prototype and I would definatly order a set. Aftermarket HID lights are about 850 dollars for a set to replace bulbs in factory units, so 500 dollars a set for the whole assembly is a bargin. I'll bet that this new look makes it to the new Lightning in '01 with the new front and rear facia's.
