Thumbs up

Hey everybody,

As for most of you 2000's, I wouldn't worry too much about any lack of wheelspin. All in due time...

As others have noted for '99's, the apparent transformation of our L's from 1000mi to 4000mi is unreal. When I bought the truck, no wheelspin. Then it was little hops and chirps here and there, then it was little burnouts from stop, and nowadays it's become more of a challenge NOT to spin the tires excessively, especially up hills (even well after I get rolling!). The only downside to this is that on wet pavement my L has become borderline lethal, as several unexpected mishaps (with fortunately hilarious consequences) will attest.

Boosting-Dave: getting back to your initial post, I never get 1-2 wheelspin on smooth pavement, though occasionally it will hop when a rough patch of pavement causes a bounce and shift. Otherwise, all I get is a really solid, thunderous, almost backfiring-like sound at a redline 1-2 shift.

Cool

Ok well my 2000 has 2750 miles on it today and well mine will shift hard and will hop most of the time when going into second if I am in the throttle all the way. It will also spin off the line but neither of these will happen if the AC is on. Turn it off and WOW, runs totally different. I cant complain with either aspect.

Thanks for all the information. I went to the place were I had the wheel hop and found a new pothole about were the wheel hop started when shifting from 1-2.

I now have 550 miles and jumped on the gas pedel several time from a stand still with no wheel spin and no wheel hop.

Its chip and filter time real soon.

Thanks again

Dave
