Hello I am new to the site and have been reading every message I can to gain more knowledge about the L and other things. I am curious how does everyone know when their L was built and where is the number out of so many built? I just purchased my L on the 19th of May and have only driven it about 53 miles. Would be great to here from someone knowledgeable. thx GP

 

What year L do you have,? You should be geting a letter from SVT about the build number,and all the info on your truck, if not you can call SVT at 1-800-FORD-SVT and they can tell you what you need to know,all you need is your vin number,if it is a 2k model they may not have the info yet.

Yes, it is a red 2000 model the fastest color as proved by Juan Montoya at Indy 500. Red wins at Indy 500.

 

WRT Ford SVT - be prepared to wait for months for your package. I got my L last Memorial Day and didn't get my certificate until sometime in the fall.

 

SVT will not be able to provide build number or date until after they've finished all the Lightning production for this year. I believe it was late summer to early fall before the '99 owners started getting their build numbers.

 

I got mine L on Aug. 30 99 and by Sept. had my package. But like someone said that they don't send them till all production is done. So you'll just have to wait.
