NEED HELP FROM THE FLOWMASTR GUYS!
Aight,I am now offically po'ed. I took my "Bolt" to 2 more Muffler shops(stayed away from national chains) and got nowhere!
First guy has me put my baby up on the racks and looks at the underside and tells me flat out "it won't work." I said it's been done on quite a few. He quips "Have you SEEN it done,or did they TELL you they had it done?"
I said that pics have been posted on the internet. The guy looks at me like I just uttered some taboo word.EWWWWW "internet"! He says "you print out those pictures and get me the dimensions of the flowmasters and then we'll talk.Cuz I'll tell you right now I wouldn't even want to try a project like that."----Greeeaaaat
Next guy had not a clue what I wanted done.Again up on the racks,I show him what would be done and he looks at me like I'm speaking in tongues! Finally after about 15 minutes of explaining he "gets it"(that's debatable) and says that it won't work! Say's the Flows will scrape cuz they're to wide to go on their sides, even at an angle. And even if they didn't the wouldn't fit up under w/o touching the under carriage.
Again I was told if I brought documentation(ie pics) and the Flow numbers(series and dimensions) he would then give me an estimate on the labor!WTF?!? This is ridiculous!
So if you could PLEEEEAAAASE post pics, instructions, and the dimensions on the mufflers I would GREATLY appreciate it!

P.S. I got shards of metal(and a nail!) stuck all throught my F1's while at one or both of these places,as if I wasn't close enought to the edge already!

Hitman,
I had the same problems with a few exhaust places here too. Look up my post labeled "Dual mufflers, ground clearance" from last week and look at the replies with pictures I got. It CAN be done these guys proved it.

Hitman,
I dont have flowmasters but areo chambers and went through the same problem you did. I finally went to a good shop and used 3" pipes with no cats and stood the mufflers side by side with no problem. There is plenty of clearence and i am very happy with the work. It did cost a lot of money though to have all the pipes custom bent and all. Dont have any pics to show but this mufflers will definatly fit. hope this helps a little

I just had flowmasters put on my 2000 L. They will work and they sound great, not too loud on idle but has that real nice rumble when under power. the part number for the model i got is 524554. they are the dual in dual out. i was worried that i should have went with two, like I did on my lariat, but with these, I am very well pleased. it was no trouble for the installer, only had to add one short piece of pipe to make it lay flat so ground clearance is not a problem. Good luck.
These are Borlas but the Flows fit and turn the same way. With the 2 chamber 40 series(the loudest) you'll need (1)#42541 [2.5" offset inlet,2.5" center outlet] and (1)#42540 [2.5" center inlet/2.5" center outlet]. The offset inlet goes on the passenger side with the offset up, the center inlet goes on the drivers side. They had to pull the stock pipe on the passenger side from the exhaust manifold in a little(maybe a 1/2" or 1") to get the mufflers to sit side-by-side. When they put the mufflers on they do appear low but compared to the axle(which has to clear) they will clear.

Guys,
Thanx for the responses,I cannot believe how fricken hard this has turned out to be! I am imagining that even when I find someone willing to do this they will charge me out the ying/yang. Some of you have paid moderate amounts of $$(like 70 bucks for labor) others have paid double or triple that.I want the 70 buck version LOL,but am willing to spend a bit more to get it done right. But I refuse to get raked over the coals.
