Will a 99 or 00 Lightning exhaust (cat back) fit on a 97 XLT 4X4? If so, does ford sell it and for how much?

I really want a side exit, in front of the rear wheel, dual exit exhaust for my beast. Thanks!

How close are you to Chesapeake VA or Fayetteville NC? I have a Lightning muffler 2 weeks old you can have.

Im in Greensboro...not sure of the distance I just moved here. Is it just the muffler or does it have the dual exits also?

 

It's 2.5" dual in/dual out with the elbows out the back so you only have to add the tips. It shouldn't be to difficult to hook up.

Mine has a single in single out. I was thinking the Lightnings were a single in dual out design, like the Gibson SuperTruck. Can this still work?

 

If I remember right on my '98 4X4 they crossover and join together a foot or so before your stock muffler. You could cut them at the crossover and bring dual back to the muffler. I think you'll definitely need a muffler shop to install as they'll have to make a couple pieces to reach the muffler.

I just went and measured it, the complete assembly is 38" long minus about 2" for the female inlet to slide on the exhaust extensions meaning installed it will take up about 36"s of space. BTW, if I'm not mistaken you have cats on both sides so you won't need additional ones.

I have dual Pipes on both my 92 F150 and my Lightning. The 92 has Cat back system from Midas shop that wasnt very expensive. They exit behind the tire in stock position but they offered to exit them straight back or in front of the tire.'

Any good muffler shop can give you what you are looking for

Had 87 Turbo Coupe traded for
92 F150 XLT 302, Put K&N Filter, cat back and Chip on 92 still not enough.

Silver 2000 Lightning, Valentine 1, Snuglid, Bedrug and nickel tint.
Have Sals Chip and Filter and 3.73 gears on order, cant wait.
