Well add one more to the fire.

My truck with Just a K&N filter and a Houston Performance custom chip went 13.39 @ 101 on stock goodyears.

With the addition of the bassani exhaust and Pro-m meter I went 13.1@103.8 again on stock tires.

Who knows...with a good launch and some stickies there should be a 12 in it.

who knows....

Good times ! That kind of follows that the headers help, Do you think the Pro-M is responsible for the good times as well ?

Thanks

People people...the exhuast did NOT help....the whole bassani system only gained me 8rwhp. That's not a whole lot of gain for almost 2k installed. The Pro-M 80mm MAF gained 24rwhp peak to peak.

Just my .02

The magazine article mention alot more torque
output (with the headers)which is especially important in heavy vehicles. HP isn't everything.

I take it you give most of the credit to the Pro-M, but then people tell me it ain needed until you get above 420 HP. So I get a little confused sometimes : ^ ). Thanks anyway for your post .

Thumbs up

there is a rivalry between my chips. they are constantly trying to out-do each other. while one is in the truck, the other is off to obediance school, learning a new trick. My PSP has learned the 40mph, 1st gear screaming downshift. neat trick for LS1's who have been notified of our 20mph no downshift dilema. if i had to go chipless while waiting on a re-programming, i'd have to park this truck, and drive my "gasp" car. i can't drive chipless, i WON'T drive chipless. so everyone, get 2 of everything for your lightning, you and your truck will be much happier.

dorgun1,

Don't let anybody kid you, the Pro-M does help. And No you don't have to have 400+ horsepower to make the Pro-M work either.

If you look at the Pro-M there are no restrictions unlike the Ford MAF. The center post has been removed on the Pro-M which means less restriction. Granted there is no seat of the pants feel but you should gain anywhere from a .1 to .3 in 1/4 mile. Doesn't seem like much? Look at it this way, these big boys weigh almost 5000lbs and even though they are smoother than the '93 to '95 it is still like driving a barn door down the track

If you want neck jerking kicka$$ gains then go with a big block tuned to the max, 300 HP shot of giggle gas with big gears. Then a smile will come to your face.

I was showing off a little with my V-Max
and he reminded me of what true acceleration feels like. V-max bikes turn in the high 10s with a good rider. After a full out launch my stomach ain't where is is suppose to be.

I love the BOLT but hey it is a heavy truck we can't expect miracles.
