Question Need help with removing my passenger side Kook header

Hey fellas. I am in the process of removing my Kook headers to have them Jet-Hot coated. I got the drivers side header off with no problem, but the passenger side is giving me a little trouble. I got all of the studs out and disconnected the collector, but I can't seem to slide it out of there. Is there something special I need to do to get it out? Like remove the starter or something? Does it come out the top or the bottom? Any help you guys can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I plan to buy new stock manifold gaskets and some new manifold studs to use when I get the headers back. I would also like to put a little sealant on the gaskets for insurance. What is a good sealant to use for exhaust gaskets?

SW

Be sure you discount the battery!! The header will come up through the passenger side fender well between the frame and engine without removing the starter. Just take your time and twist and turn till it comes out.

Assuming they are stainless why would you want to coat them? Stainless holds the heat in very well.

Really, I thought stainless radiated more heat. Either way, they get extremely hot and heat up everything under the hood. It's beginning to scare me. When I took them off I saw that the heat had melted the loom that was covering some of my wires. That's not good considering the loom was covering my O2 sensor wires and some wires that go to my gauges. The Jet-Hot coating will decrease surface temps on the headers by 50% and will dramatically decrease under-hood temps. It will also make the headers last longer. To me it's worth $300 for just those benifits alone.
