Deep Staging
I saw a few cars with DEEP on the windshield.
I understand this is to notify the timing tower they are going to deep stage.
Turn off the top yellow light.
This gives the car something slightly less than a 1/4 mile to run, but what advantage is this, I don't quite get it. Any master bracket racers out there ? Would you advise this stradigy ?

Hey Dorgunr, Sal here. Here goes.. If you look at the tree, you will notice there are two sets of staging lights, pre-stage, and stage. There are two beams on the starting line, to which each set of lights is hooked. When you stage your truck, first the tires break the pre-stage beam, and the first set of lights goes on. Then you continue to role forward and you break the second beam, and the Stage lights come on. Now you are staged. When you DEEP stage, you continue to role forward until you clear the first beam, and the Pre-stage lights go out. Your run starts when you clear both beams, so if you have that extra few inches forward, you will have a quicker reaction time as you have less distance to travel to start the race. Some people do this if they don't cut good lights, or have a "slow reacting" vehicle. Keep in mind that DEEP staging is not always allowed, and if you do DEEP stage, you have to put it on your window, so the starter knows to wait until your top set of lights goes out before he lets the tree go down. Hope this helps!!
