My '01 L (30,000 miles) started cutting out at speed last week.

I was fairly sure this must be the Superchip coming loose, so I removed it, and - it still happens. Runs Ok at idle and everyday speeds, but as soon as I give it any boost, it starts to run rough and dies after a couple minutes. Leave it for an hour, starts OK and runs until I get up to speed.

Any ideas? - I don't know any dealers near me (south-east England) who can run the Ford diagnostics, so don't have that option

5 years of trouble-free L fun so I'm not complaining, just need to get it fixed

When is the last time you changed your fuel filter?

 

FB - I just had a 30,000 service done (at my local Covette dealer, don't get mad with me, they're the only guys near me who know what a V8 is...), I should check that they replaced it at the service

I have seen on here that on the 01 pumps the lines become seperated
at ths y iinside the tank

 

I would check all things fuel, filter, pumps, relays next how about the plugs.
