Post Fair price for a 99

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a 1999 Lightning, and have found one, black with all options, with less than 14,000 miles, and was curious if $27,000 sounds like a good deal for it. It does have a few stone chips, but everything else looks to be in excellent condition. I know that kelly blue book shows $30,000+ for it, but I dont know if I should offer less, or jump on it.
Any help is appreciated.

Joe

I have a white one I'll sell ya for $30k! 23,000 miles

----------
J/K! Anything is for sale for a price!

There are alot of dealers in the Detroit area that will do A-Plan. I'm sure those dealers will deal on a new L without the A-Plan just to keep their customer coming back.

Cool

You should buy a new one for 28500 from that dealer Mike Bass ford instead of used unless you save another couple thousand. Check out the "want a deal on new L" before you put your money down. Thats my 2 cents.

Wait a day or so and i will post details on my deal. The way the deal is shaking down i am getting my new L out the door with tax for $28,000 without option 1. Let me make sure it goes though first and i will give you the details.

Thanks

Hey, Gofast, the last time I looked at Kellys
on-line, a used 99 in good condition was almost $38K. Had a local dealer here in Maryland who HAD a real clean red 99 with 2000 miles marked down to $30K. Might have sold for less but probably not more.

$27K sounds pretty good unless it has some serious problem. But I agree that if you can get a Y2K "L" for a little more cash, I would go for it.

What kind of warranty do you get for $27K??

Also, for about $20 you can go on-line with CARFAX and get a title search done. This might tell you if it was a lemon return, salvaged, flood damaged, etc.

KBB values on lightnings do not reflect current sale prices. 38K for used L will not sell.

Here are some numbers for comparison. I Bought my Black 99 with all options used in January. It had 2100 miles on it. I paid $26,250. Cost me $600 to ship it from Oregon to Texas. Have been very happy with it.

I just bought my 2000 L brand spanking new for 28,800 out the door with tax. Do the math that is about $1200 over a plan price with tax. After i pick mine up tomorrow i will tell you where to go get yours they have a black one left, just tell them i sent you.
