PSP Trucks at the WFC
Hey all, Sal here. WFC was a blast as always. We met lots of great people, and since I missed the 99 WFC, I had a lot of catching up to do!! But the event was business for me, and I must say that I was quite pleased. The top four Street Lightning trucks were PSP customer trucks. Spiro's truck was number one qualifier all weekend with a 13.11. I was number two with a 13.14, until Marcus Harrison knocked me down one with a 13.12 in his PSP chipped Powerdyne first Gen. After me, was Jim Ritter's PSP truck, also running a 13.14, with a few hundreths lower mph. Christy Ann was also running strong all weekend; I saw her run in the 13.4s with stock F-1s. The weather was less than disireable for super fast ETs,(temp - 70-80*, hum- 65-79%, baro-29.33-29.79) so overall I am pleased with how the PSP trucks ran. I know that Spiro's, Jim's and my truck will easily run high 12s at our hometown tracks comparing air quality and elevation. Spiro's truck was pretty amazing since he was running 13.11-13.16 all weekend. And for those who had mentioned the single blade throttle body on another post, PSP already has one coming out; a select few got to see it at the WFC

Jim, Street Lightning will stay at a 13.0 break (or thereabouts). The idea is to encourage you to get into the 12s so you spend money to have a chance at winning big money.
Ah, marketing... ::chuckle::
Shame I didn't have my Gen 1 there Sal...

reality1,
Just because your truck can run in the 12's dosen't mean that you can't run it in the street lightning class with a 13.00 bump. You just have to learn how to control your times. Any good bracket racer will run his car slower then what it is capable of. This give you an advantage, if you don't cut a good light, or spin badly. (a.k.a. SANDBAGGING) just a little FYI

I do not use Sal's chip, but I must say that I was very impressed with the performance of the trucks using his stuff. There were some substantial improvements made with his "tinkering" Congrats on the performance displayed and for having the top trucks in Street.

You must be modifing(throtle linkage)from the cobra R(5.4 DOHC) throtle body to fit the Lightning. I have been thinking of ordering one from FMS to try to convert myself. If it is the R throtle body, are you having to remove linkage or just modify it?

What can I say,Team PSP was running outstanding all weekend. I was fortunate enough to run in the 13`teens all weekend.I would like to thank Sal and Lisa for the awesome products that he offers and for all the extra time he spent with me "tweaking" my program.

Thanks Spiro! To those that did not make it to St. Louis, You missed some awesome Trucks,outclassed only by their owners in th NLOC pits. Bill Murray, I know you were busy setting up your new store, looking forward to seeing you next year. Jim

Thanks for your comments, maybe next year I can run closer to you, the top dog in qualifying.
I had a blast with everyone there, especially watching you and Sal trying to tweak every little bit of horsepower out of your trucks.
Sal;
I wish you had shown me your throttle body mod, if not before, at least after we were done racing. I truely enjoyed other information and help you provided to me and the rest of the NLOC members during the event.
Jeff S and Trace
Thanks for all your efforts, in making the event happen for the NLOC. I told your salesman you took me out with the other Joe Cotton Ford Lightning, he couldn't believe your times on a STOCK 1200 mile truck.
To everyone else I met there, thanks for the memories and I'll see you there again next year.
