It seems that you and I have the same mods.Like I said before, the chip gave me just under a half second improvement in my ETs. Also, you gotta love the shift improvement. Keep us posted. (like I really needed to tell you that)

Zorprime,
Glad to hear at least someone is getting a PSP chip. When did you order yours? I ordered one over two weeks ago but I have yet to see or hear anything from Sal. I was under the impression that Sal kept the chips in stock and that I'd get it within a week. I have sent email messages and tried to call him over 100 times in the past week, but still I can't get in touch with Sal. Oh well, glad you're happy with your chip.

I took about 4 weeks to recieve my chip.It has been well worth the wait.Just be patient.I emailed Sal and wanted him to calibrate the chip for 3.73 gears(which are going in thursday night)and got an email back saying he already mailed it out,and this was a few weeks back.So ill have to mail the chip back and recalibrate it for the gears.Im going out here in a few to see what happens when i really open it up.
1bad 4d,
I know exactly how you feel. I'm in the exact same situation. I did however get a hold of sal yesterday. he said that he was going to check the new online orders. And he'll try to get the chips in the mail Monday. Thats if you ordered it online.

I got chip back from Sal early in week. Thought the 1-2 shift was not right. Emailed, no reply. So I took to track yesterday. Ran a 9.156 and a 9.17+ both at 77mph. Was hoping for high 8s. Truck last year ran a 9.201 at 77mph, and was hotter(87ish) when ran last year. When new(500 miles) it ran a 9.3 odd at 76mph(mid 90s). Also last nite pass of 9.156, cut a .513 light with a 2.01 60foot on street tires. The dif in ets from last year to now could have been. One had less gas in tank last nite, had spare tire out of truck(was in for runs last year).

MALLO, those times don't seem very good. Last week I ran a 8.9652 (1/8 mile) .54 reaction, 2.0832 for 60' and a 78.47 top speed and this is stock, no chip, with a K&N in the box and syn. oil.

Mallo,
I didn't think those times seemed very good either. I ran several 8.70's all day long a couple of weeks ago and got a best of 8.67 on my final pass. 2.0 60' times. Sal's filter as my only mod. 5500 miles/temp mid 70's

I agree. A 99 gt mustang was running 9.010, with gears, pulleys, exhaust, and clutch on street tires. I felt bad that the gt could take me if we would have ran.

The trip to route 66 raceway last night was enjoyable.
As you know i had the PSP Chip installed and 3.73 gears.
Stock I ran 13.89
w/psp chip,airraid filter kit,3.73 gears....are you ready for this???
13.91
I was hoping for alot more than that,
the only thing i can figure is that with the gears there is an awful lot of tire spin,it spins almost all of first gear.
The only way i think i can remedy this is to run with drag radials.
Would it be advisable to run 26"drag radials w/3.73 or do i need a bigger diameter tire??
The chip seems to make this truck run so much faster but it just didnt show up at the track last night.
I have to send it back to sal to have it calibrated for the 3.73's.
More testing is needed..Either that or give up on my quest for the 12's...

No Flame intended but ,Racing is more than just nailing it off the line.Nobody can just nail it off the line with a chipped lightning. You need to learn how to lay into it easy for a few feet.I know stock lightnings can handle a WOT blast with little spin,NO way unless your on slicks with a chipped lightning. If It makes you feel better,The times I got after a chip while losing traction were 13.7 -13.5. Just learning how to launch like a *******.my time dropped to 13.2 .Whats funny is my MPH was higher on the spinning runs???????Next time lay into gradually while going to the floor. It works great.Your 60 ft times suffer but your E/Ts are better
Lightningquick,
I tried that aproach but it didnt work to well. These suckers spin like you wouldnt belive with the gears. The strange thing is,my trap speed was 100.7 mph, which is a 2 mph difference from stock.
I think another thing that worked against me was the fact that i had 3/4 tank of gas.
So,it must be the tire spin in first gear.Yes,racing is not easy at all.BUT VERY ADDICTING!
Dont flame me too hard....owww that burns...somebody put me out i appear to be on FIRE!!!!

Oh Boy, nailing from idle is exactly what I've been doing, the tires spin a bit but seem to grab before excessive rpm is reached.
Seems to me a good balance so that it does bog down, But perhaps I can try easing into it a bit to see if that helps the ET.(stock gear, stock F1s)
ZorPrime really spun hard, and just kind of sat there. His 60' was always more time that mine. Seems like if you go gear count on going tires at the same time.
