DRLs?
They aren't Daytime Running Lights, they are Autolamps. I believe the Canadian trucks are the only ones with the DRL's.
BTW, from your description, the Autolamps are working normally. Basically it should activate the headlamps and parkinglamps when the sensor detects it's dark outside; or rather, activates the headlamps/foglamps when it does not sense enough ambient light after a certain time period. (The sensor is in the small grille on the top center of the dash.)
Hope this helps!

My DRL's, and they do put them on US vehicles for $190, stay on all the time if I have the little red toggle switch under the dash in the on posistion and the ignition is on. You may have that switch off and your lights on "auto" which is the setting all the way to the left so they only come on when dark. Check your lights outside it the daylight and if they are off, switch your toggle and see if they come on.
Did you pay for the DRL's? I think if you don't pay for it, they just don't tell you about the toggle switch.

Are these things supposed to stay on all the time, or are they on some sort of photo-electric sensor, or something? Naturally I can't tell whether they are on or not while I'm driving around. When I first start up they normally go on (I keep the switch in the DRL position), but when I pull back into the garage they are usually off (?). When I turn the ignition off, they come back on for a few seconds, and go off again. The taillights come on to, although the manual says that the DRL switch does not activate the taillights. This strikes me as curious as I would thnk that you'd want your taillights on any time your headlights were on, especially in reduced visibility. Can anyone tell me how I determine whether mine are operating normally, or whether they are screwed up somehow?
