Just wanted to know how much it would raise the rear up if I removed it. I currently have an 01 w/ 2in shackles and removed leaf. I sell the suckers and they weigh alot so I figured if I removed it might raise the back up an inch.

 

I don't think it would make any difference... it doesn't really weight that much.

 

I didn't measure but after removal I can't see a difference.

 

I did measure the height differance. Removing the rear hitch raises the rear 3/8" to 1/2" as measured from the rear tire to the fender lip.

Removing the spare and spare winch raises it abotu the same amount.

As an engineer, you should appreciate some math:

The leafs are 180 lbs/in. Assume that all of the weight is carried by the rear springs. Removing a 45 lb hitch should raise it .25". Removing the 68 lb. spare and winch should raise it .38". So the total lift calculates to .63", which is about 5/8", just below the lower limit of 3/4" predicted by your measurements.
