I am running the M/T 10'' wide ET Drag slicks
I have been cautious about doing a good burnout.. (had the NO BOOST problem one time) so really not getting the tires hot enough
I have had a best 60 ft of 1.97 on the F1's
My first pass last night was the 1.99 60 ft
but didn't have enough air in the slicks (truck was walking all over the lane) Let off about 100 ft from finish 13.66@95

A-Lightning, couple of more questions.
Do you have the "street" or "drag" slicks?
What air pressure are you running?
How bad does it walk the track?I noticed Wyldman mentioned his did that a little also.
Are you using the stock Ford 16x8 spare rims with them?
Reason being that I will be finally getting my M/T "street' slicks next week. Couldnt get the drags. Thanks in advance.

 

I don't know why we are waisting so much time on will it or won't it run a certain time with just chip and filter. I don't belive any of the post that claim under 13.20 (not all stock except chip and filter, F1's and 3:55's).Someone a few weeks ago claimed a 13.0 with just a chip and filter (I don't belive it)! But who cares. We run at different elevations, in different weather,and in different track conditions. The only way to tell is to get together and run um. But even then, if you can't beat the tree, you can't beat ME!!!

So Jerry. Your truck runs 13.33/101.xx with a chip and a filter and you won't believe anyone who says they might run under a 13.20 with the same mods? Oh my.

I'm sure you're an experienced racer, but I've seen so many of these things, Mustangs, F-bodies with the same mods run .2-.3 faster/slower at the same track on the same night. Maybe there's not as much driver skill when driving an automatic, but to think there couldn't be a few tenths difference even with the SAME mods is naive, IMO.

You're definitely correct about the track/weather conditions. Those east-coasters racing at sea level have a nice advantage. That's why its just flat out silly to sit here and dispute claims. Like you, being in Texas I can say that we have _drastically_ different weather conditions varying from one night to the next. A nice crisp spring or fall morning/evening may put us with air that is considered below sea level, while in the heat of the summer...gosh, we're talking 2000' above sea level, easily.

BTW, all I have is a chip and filter (at least when I have run the truck at the track...I recently installed a TransGo shift kit, too) and I ran the time below in late February of this year. I'd be the first to admit that now that the hotter weather is upon us, it would probably run mid-13s. Does this mean my 13.203 doesn't count? Uh...no. I guess if I'd run a 13.193 you wouldn't have believed me, though.

hey mad and jerry any of you unbeleivers going to the wfc? i'll be there along with some other low 13 sec. lightnings. i don't know what the temps will be or all the other good stuff but if i don't run 13.2 or faster on just a chip and k/n i'll be surprised! but that still doesn't mean i never ran a 13.0 with just the chip and filter..(hope you guys will be there )lets see who's jaw hits the ground first.......

For the record,I got my *** beat by almost 3 tenths by a stock lightning last night
2000vs2000!! Same track same conditions.Only difference is he had a air aid.He was running 1.5 tenths faster stock for stock!!!!
What about the first lightnigs that were running 14.3-14.6 and at the same tracks last yesr the later production ones were runningh 13.8-14.2!!!!!Gee there is no difference in factory trucks huh???? LOSERS!

Belive me when I said I didn't believe anyone could run better than 13.20 with only these mods, that was a general statement. I don't have a set time that makes it unbelievable to me. I just think it's possible for anyone to post any time they want. I have a time slip that I can post that shows a 12.422 (I would not have to tell that it was the Corvette, and I was in the other lane). Think anyone would go for that one? Wes I was not trying to get on your bad side,. I respect your opinion very much. But we don't know if some of these people have changed gears and kept quiet about it! Maybe no one has lied. I'll just wait for the first totally stock 12.90 claim. I guess I should believe it if someone post it. And since my opinions must be wrong I'll keep them to my self from now on.

 

Hey Ray if you will go back and read my post you wil see I was talking about sub 13.20 runs. But you love it when you think someone called you a liar. It gives you an excuse to use all your vast vocabulary.

No one is on my "bad side", Jerry. I don't get into pissing contests. I think _everyone_ needs to take a deep breath here and relax.

Maybe MAD has never seen a '99-00 L break 13.5x. That's not his fault. However, questioning the validity of certain members' times isn't proper protocall, IMO, but I certainly won't question his '97 Cobra running high-11s on slicks...again, that's not that hard to do, IMO (unless its bone stock, which I know its not ).

Let's drop this one fellas. Go beat up on Chevys and not each other.
