Rear studs broken
Anybody break any rear wheel studs yet (besides me
)? I broke two on one wheel tightening them up with a 4-way. Ever tried to replace them?! You have to pull the axles out to make the room for the new stud to get into the hole! (to do it properly)

Hey PFA, there is hope.....when you get replacements from Ford Parts and Service, the rear studs are minus the small nub at the end of the stud. It saves about approx. 3-4mm which is all that you will need to get it btwn the axle flange and the tube. 100 ft. lbs comes awfully quick

I don't know if after market studs are this way though...
I just bought front studs from Village Ford, they were only .75 or so each, so I am sure rears are close to the same.

I went down to Sears and got a torque wrench specifically because of these lug nuts.

I had my wife pick up a couple from the dealer for me. They also had the little nub and couldn't get them in.
Maybe the fronts are different, but the back seem to be the same.
How about a CHROME rearend cover for a replacement when I do this myself??
