Question about TPS and SBTB
I am getting ready to install an Accufab SBTB. I am going to get it tuned shortly after the installation. Do I need to adjust something on the TPS or do I just swap out the throttle bodies and transfer the stock TPS to the Accufab. I am just wondering because I have read that some people have had problems with the TPS voltage when going to a SBTB.
In my expereiences - anytime you swap a part for something not "OEM," - you need to plan on checking out all other connecting devices. I didnt check the TPS voltage "before" I put on my Accufab SBTB - so I don't know if it made a difference or not - but I did check it afterwards just in case and found it reading about .94 volts - so I adjusted it to about .98 - .99 volts.
Ya what he said, YES you must adjust it
All I'll add is dont sweat it, the truck will run flawless without adjusting it too, (BUT YOU MUST CHECK IT JUST IN CASE).
Here's a very old pic, maybe it'll help ???

Yes Yes Yes
Voltage is the same for any and all L's using an aftermarket Single Blade TB
As I said dont put too much into it, the truck will run flawless even if your a bit out, but there are rare ocassions where being alot out did cause problems,
hence the reason you must check it.

Well I tried to adjust it. The best I could get it to was 0.882. I tried fiddling with the idle screw on the TB and was able to get it to 0.99, but the idle was way high at like 1200 RPM's. Is 0.882 okay or should I try something else???

Assuming your meter is reading accurately, I think I'd want to be closer to .98 - .99 volt than .882. As mentioned, most of us had to "slot" the TPS screw holes a bit to get sufficient movement to be adjusted to proper voltage. I didn't touch the idle adjustment screw - just slotted the screw holes a bit - and got it to about .98-.99.

That is why I sold my AccuCrap and went BBK. I think any other throttle body manufacturer would be better. I took mine directly to Accufab and they told me the reason it idles so high is because the throttle body makes so much more horsepower. I did work the blades and the throttle stop but was never able to set the tps at .99 and have the idle below 850 to 950 rpms.
You can have a tuner adjust the idle for you via programming, but why should you have to. For $500.00 this throttle body should sing for me in the shower and not require me to get a tune on a stock truck just to adjust idle to normal, )Rant off)
Good Luck with yours.
