Horsepower and times

I was just wondering how much hp at the wheels and what times in the quarter could i expect from a 8lb lower pulley,k&n fipk 2, sct chip, magnaflow exhaust even though that doesn't add any, and a tune?? thanks for your input. i got nitto's 555 extremes

Not sure about the 1/4 but in an 1/8 your looking between 8.20's and 8.40's. Really depends on the driver.

I'd get it custom dyno tuned.. that 8lb lower is slightly dangerous and inefficient on our stock eaton.. If you're tuned good I'd say 12.7 on nitto's

Yeah that's what I've been told it's dangerous, but I've had the truck since Dec with those mods and hit it hard from all over and no detonation. What hp do u think I have?

oh well that certainly means its safe then . where's that quote "horsepower is not an appropriate substitute for intelligence"? so you don't know what your air/fuel ratio is? and you probably haven't checked your MAF or done anything to compensate for maxing that out? how about you keep that thing off the track until you get a little safer combo, that way the rest of us won't have to wait the extra hour for track cleanup when your rods go through the block. they eventually will i assure you.

if it didn't run in the 7s in 1/8th in decent air i'd be pissed if i were you. i run 8.0s-8.30s with 4lb and port, chip, filter. then again you're creating so much heat you might run better with a 6 or 4 lber, i'm not sure.

take it to the track and find out...
if you can hook it i'd expect low 1.8x 60' times, and i'd say 12.7@108... only one way to find out though

PM sent.

As you've stated I'd say you'd run a 13.2@105ish

Gosh, with an 8lb pulley he better run in the 12's. I have a 4 lb and the usual minor intake mods and went 12.80 at 106 on Sunday, in 75 degree weather. I'd think an 8lb with a tune would be worth several tenths more?

Take off the 8#er for a 6# and a little stage 2 ported blower. With the right tune it will run LOW 12s @ 110+ in full street trim. Power should be around 450/550 at the rear.
If you want to be safe, add a set of fuel pumps and 55# injectors, Maf xtender, and FULL exhaust.
Next mods after those would be a good 2,600 stall and a set of slicks. Now you ready to run some 11s.

P.S An 8# lower and stock blower creates WAY too much heat. You will run faster with a 4# lower. A 6# and a good port seems to be a good setup.

Right now I'd say you're hovering around 400/500 at the rear wheels with a canned tune and 8 lb. lower on the stock heaton. 13 flat in the quarter if you hook good. In our heat and humidity you'd get the same with a 4lb lower and the right dyno tune. Good luck.

Not sure how bad the air is where you race in FL. I'm in TX and usually our air is poor, but on a decent day I ran 12.8 @ 109.xx on Nitto DRs (horrible 2.08 60') with just a 4# pulley, Magnaflow cat-back, SCT tune (93 octane) and a CAI. Put out 391rwhp/483rwtq SAE corrected. If you're not over 400/500, then you're not getting enough out of the 8# pulley. Like the others have said, it may end up being worth it to drop back to a 6#. With my 4#, I see ~12+psi of boost with the stock Eaton.
